The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Yeah, really nice present for a brother.

Haha I always get my brothers good gifts (I'm the oldest). They got Utah State game tickets and hotel rooms for their bdays this year. I tend to hook them up more so than anyone else. Only until I have my own kids haha.

thanks
I really like the Novak sights, but not sure if I'll send this one in

It's in really nice shape, will just have to get use to the target sights

I once saw a gold cup with what's called, the Jardine tactical hook rear sight. You're kinda limited with sight options with the bomar cut, the Jardine sight works well from what I hear.
But, like you say, that colt is to nice to do anything to except shoot. But, there are options out there. Cheers

maybe for others, but I'm not skilled enough to take a dremel to any of my guns

It's an old saying, the ABCD method of gunsmithing.

Assault by Brownells Catalog and Dremel tool.

I've seen more than one 1911 that was wrecked by the basement gunsmith.

But personally? I'd drop a Wilson Combat extended tactical safety. A Wilson Bulletproof grip safety. And an Ed Brown Maxiwell 25 LPI mainspring housing and mag well funnel.

:)

I buy colts and never fire them for the sole purpose of resale value. After the New Town shooting I sold an 6920 that I bought for $1050, for $3400.

I'm curious what will happen with Colt since they lost the M4 contract and the fact they are $300+ million in the hole:

Colt Defense In Danger of Default - The Firearm Blog

However, just reached an agreement with Morgan Stanley for another $70 million loan:

From what I've seen, when a company gets bought out like that or brings in new management to get the till back in order, quality tends to slip as they cut corners to make a profit and get back even on the money. Sig is a prime example of that.

I'd prefer a BCM anyway.

I'll probably just pass this to my son.

P.S.-You can probably buy three of them now. Colt makes a great M4. Hate to see them lose that contract.

Everyone's opinion:

Who is making the best semi auto handguns now across the board? Not cost no object but in terms of value?

Which one do you have?

Thunder .380. Thousands of rounds and still not a single jam. I've put all kinds of different brands through it and nothing has been a problem. I've often thought to myself, if I were ever in a situation where I had to quickly grab my gun for protection, I'd grab the Bersa before the Walther. They really make a wonderful product for the money.

Is that the Thunder plus or the Thunder?

I have a Bersa Firestorm which is a Thunder by another name.

I'm a huge fan of that .380 form factor. I also have a Sig p232SS which is beautiful. Want to add a Walther PPK eventually but from all I read it will be the least reliable and worst trigger of the bunch.

To round it out I'd like a CZ83 and a Beretta Cheetah 85FS (maybe a Makarov for good measure).

Love my Bersa. Sights were crap but I painted the front one orange and repainted the rears white and it helped.
