The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

I need to get my military ID replaced. I lost my wallet a few years ago and never got it replaced.

I never really asked for military discounts anyway tho. I didn't join for so I could get a discount so I always kind of felt like a doucher. I'd be happy to use it in this situation tho haha.

I highly doubt anyone does. If so they'd be retarded because the discounts we get aren't worth joining for.

Kind of meh at that price. I know that's MSRP on the site and all and it's likely around the $750 mark, but Springers run around $650 for the Mil-Spec models and a Colt 1991 at $750. So I'm wondering if the CZ really has anything to offer over them.

I wonder if they will be built by Dan Wesson or CZ. I'm partial to Colt and Les Baer 1911's myself, but I may pick one up just for kicks. Roll mark is really lame imo

They will have forged slides and frames. Much better than the cast SA parts imo. I wonder about internals, I suspect a lot of mim parts. Hoping to be suprised by the typical very high quality CZ products.

I did forget about them owning Dan Wesson.

question for u guys/gals. Looking for a new semi auto shotgun. Sbe2 or a new model a5 were my final choices. Who has them, shot them or recommends either one or give me another suggestion to look into. Will be using for hunting(geese, pheasants, dove, ducks, possibly turkey, etc) and skeet shooting. Im new to the semi auto club having never owned one and was just lookinh for some other opinions beside what ive read as of late. Thanks

Did you look at the M2? Between the two above I'd go with the Sbe2. However, I prefer A400, 28", 12ga.

The SBE2 is as fine of a shotgun as I've ever owned. It's perfect for what you're going to use it for.

I've read a lot about the franchi intensity and it has some very good reviews. Any thoughts

Anyone used an UpLula speed loader? I need to invest in one and read that they were pretty good, but just figured I'd see if you guys had any input.

any opinions on the sig p320 carry....i know sig pretty well but was looking for some views on there first striker fired poly project.

Having the sights adjusted on my new Kimber
I've shot about 200 rds thru it, and 2 different brands, and it's shooting 3 inches left...I don't have a sight puller, so gave it to a gunsmith today to bore sight, but I can see this being a long project
Also gave him the Colt .380 to swap the trigger back to the factory black, vs the stainless Novak put in for me

Just didn't like the look of the stainless trigger

Guns are expensive

I shoot beretta's, my reco would be to go to a skeet/trap/sporting clay range and see if you could rent different models to see what fits you best and gives you the best sight line

I've had no problems with a cast framed SR1911. I'm not going to win any match shooting awards with it but it is accurate enough and more importantly to me very simple to break down and extremely durable. While not a pure 1911, I do have a Colt defender in .45 that was intended to be a carry weapon but it's such a pain to put back together after field stripping for cleaning that I hardly shoot it. Of course there's all the usual issues with leaf springs as well. I like firearms that I can drop in a muddy creek, blow off and keep rocking and rolling.

Well I just discovered this thread and read through it quickly. Interesting info. My carry is a Glock 36 which is a .45. Love it and would not trade it at all. I have been thinking of getting a Bersa Thunder .380 for summer ( shorts , light clothing ). I really have not checked that out thoroughly yet.

Nothing wrong with cast parts, it's a cost thing in all honesty. Kinda like paying $1300 for a cast receiver M1A vs $2200 for a forged LRB M14 rifle. It's all in what you want and expect.

I have a buddy that has a Ruger 1911 that he has beaten half to death, it still runs like a champ.

Like you, I view firearms as tools. If I drop them on the ground or get a scratch on them, I'm not worried. I don't really care what they look like. Function before beauty IMO.

I went the TCP/LCP route because I can even carry in scrubs or gym clothes (in short, absolute anything I could wear), but the Bersas would be fine for most summer clothes. I just found the Bersa to be just a little big and a little heavy for clothes that light. The Bersa's are great though, there are 3 in my extended family and everybody likes them.

The Kahr .380 is worth looking at as well, IMO.

Also, I may regret saying it, but the Taurus G2s are down to 199 at several places that are clearing out inventory space for new year shipments. It's a damn good deal for anyone that skews more toward 'affordable' pistols and isn't locked in by brand.

About 1200 rounds into mine. Still no issues. None. It helps that it fits my hand perfectly, but still...

(For reference, my safe currently has Rugers, a Sig, Glocks, Smith, Beretta, Springfields, and a Bersa in it. I swear that G2 is still one of my favorites)
