The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Well balanced though on the full sized M1A. Which is why I never got serious about the SOCOM or Scout. Just didn't feel right to me.

But I'd love to have that Loaded back.

Yeah, I could go with the scout, the socom is a marketing gimmick imo.

I have two smith built LRB's full size. One with medium weight barrel in crazy horse configuration and one with a pristine usgi Winchester barrel. Both are tack drivers.

I should have jumped on one of those Argentine surplus that came in a few years ago.

They still turn up from time to time. Lots of surplus fn's on gunbroker. Same pistol as the browning, just a different roll mark.

Okay, that Torrey Pines Logic T10 Thermal Imager is way freakin cool. SHOT this year was kind of meh, but that is awesome.

I personally loved the expansion of the market for US made AK's.

The century made c39 v2 is a very well made rifle from what I can tell so far.

I don't know how much you play around with ALG Defense triggers, but IMO they are the best bang for the buck no pun intended. That's practically all I'll use in AR builds unless specified otherwise.

If you've got an AK, I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to pick that trigger pack up and install it.

Yeah, they've partnered up with geissele correct? Imagine that, a geissele trigger for an AK, and it's affordable. The world can now end lol

Kind of, the company was started by his daughter Amy Lynn Geissele (ALG) as more or less a "budget" line of Geissele triggers and accessories.

Their QMS and ACT triggers are smooth for little more than mil-spec. I wouldn't expect an AK trigger to be anything less than outstanding. And if there is anything the AK needs it's a decent trigger.

And a bolt hold open, an extra hand to facilitate mag swaps, better sights...

Cool, I'll check them out when I get the chance. I wholeheartedly agree, I've shot with Geissele triggers before, hands down the best trigger for an AR by far.

The only thing that comes close that I've tried is the Wilson Combat TTU. And I'd say the Geissele SSA-E still tops it.

Which is why one sits in my AR-10 :)

Who needs 18 rounds for EDC? If you can put em between the eyes with a polymer 9 mm then you probably don't need more than a .38 derringer. Otherwise, you're probably just gonna spray and pray and wind up killing a non combatant. I don't know who the hell is instructing people that they need to be prepared for a running firefight. The truth is that 99.9% of permit holders will never have just cause to skin a rod in anger. If you do find yourself in that extreme minority, which I guess is why we carry in the first place, chances are it ain't gonna last more than one or two shots.
