The Official #4 Tennessee @ Arkansas Game Thread, 7:30 PM ET, ABC

One of the things that irks me about Nico is that he’s just too chill. No emotions. He doesn’t get onto his OL or his WR’s. He doesn’t lead. He’s silent. He doesn’t have the killer instinct. I’d like to see the Vols with a QB that plays with fire. The Vandy QB had fire today, he lead his team and beat Bama, and Vandy doesn’t pay him $8 million.
But if he keeps that up, he will. Every year in the NFL.

Mine certainly isn'

I'm actually hoping this L will give me some perspective in life to find other more important things to do on Saturday. I was duped into thinking this was a championship team with no weaknesses.
Yes, we all fell for it. But as always since 1998, our hearts are broken once again.

Most disappointed in our over hyped WRs. They can’t get open at all. Two weeks in a row. Nico needs to be a running QB more often. He holds the ball so long because no one is open. Poor team performance starting with lack of discipline; too many penalties. Great game plan by Arkansas. If there QB didn’t take a cheap shot from Lott, we wouldn’t even had a last second chance. Lott gets a personal foul called about every game. Arkansas is a better team than you think. We are not as good as we had hoped. Time to regroup and help send Billy back to Chatsworth. We saved Pittmans job. Let’s not save Napier’s.

I knew this was our trap game. Felt uneasy All week. GO VOLS.

Then I will just call all of you and your ilk IDIOTVOLS. Has a better ring to it. That fits in with your BS.
Give it a rest. You’re not earning points or anything. People are pissed for good reason. Hope we get it together and become a complete team. We all just found out we aren’t what we thought we were.

Arch is better than Nico
I bought into the Nico hype after the bowl game last year and the first few garbage games this year but these last few games have exposed him. He’s not even one of the top 6 QB’s in the SEC. He’s a huge disappointment. All of his talk about loving to play on the road and then craps the bed like he did tonight. Starting tonight the Vols began a tough stretch and after watching Vandy play, I’m now worried about whether or not the Vols can beat them. Good lord, after last week and this week I’m no longer a confident fan. I’m thinking 8-4 might be the best this team can do.

Inexcusable loss.

The oline is trash. Nico has lost confidence and Heupel has no confidence in Nico.
Do you really think he doesn't have confidence in Nico or is that he doesn't trust his OL 2 things can be true or it could just be 1. Hard to trust a QB fully who has not really played a lot when his older more experienced tackles get beat like a drum. I don't know but they have to find a little more room for Nico to settle into a game

Well, there's only 1 undefeated team in the SEC now, not the end of the world, but road issues continue... I hope we can play lights out at home the next 4 games, then we're still in it.

Huepel definitely been relying to much on the defense. The offense gotta do their part to
Agreee. But there has to be a reason for this sudden change from being aggressive and playing with a chip on the shoulder, to this passive and extremely vanilla, non-creative offense that we have now. Something feels really off over the last two games.

Being loud or obnoxious isn’t being a leader.

As a 6th round draft pick, 2nd string, and riding the pine? Sorry feller, I’m just not a Nico fan at the moment. $8 million dollar garbage man in the present. Will he get better? Sure. 1st round draft pick? I don’t see it. I’m not saying he’s a bust but I’m seriously doubting the high school scouts that rated him so highly.

The issue is that….we can’t score
There’s no excuse for it. Nico is young but he was a highly touted 5* recruit who should be able to manage the game well enough against an unranked team. OL did him no favors but after 4yrs it is really concerning that they’re a problem. You HAVE to protect your young qb. On top of that, this was probably Heupel’s worst coaching job to date. The team was completely unprepared coming off a bye week and that’s on him.

Bad OL play. Poor secondary tackling in first half. False starts. Roughing the punter stupid. Less than desirable clock management at the end. Can’t get Sampson in a pass route because he has to pass block. Love Bishop, but he miss too blocks while pass protecting. WRs need to be a lot better. I’m sick of all of the WR screens and same dang run play. We need to be creative because we are not great on offense when playing SEC teams.

I was talking about the Vandy QB, not Nico.
