Exactly the type of effort I was hoping for, total team win. I kind of felt that if JJJ could get back to his attack mindset, getting downhill and into the paint he could get bavk on track, but the 3's were icing. Awaka was huge tonight, and what can you say about ZZ? When everybody contributes, this team is going to be very, very hard to beat.

It's so much better when it's a team effort. It's all right to feed the hot hand, but it doesn't need to be one guy. Awaka was valuable in his minutes tonight. Bradshaw didn't want any part of Awaka. He probably would have gotten his face broken. Games like this make it really fun. Great game for this team and coaches at Rupp Arena.

All starters scored double figures tonight, 42 points in the paint, that's what it takes on the road against an SEC rival,

Rick's time out with the 4 point lead and the engine sputtering made all the difference tonight, level set, call an inbound play for a score, hopefully he'll add that experience of correcting the flow and reversing the momentum and realize you get 4 time outs a half, 4 media time outs, if you don't use them, you can't do anything with them, they don't carry over, you can't sell them on eBay,

Let me tell you why this game was phenomenal ... Kentucky played REALLY well according to the numbers ...
49% from the field; 44% for the 3 point line and note that both of those percentages are HIGHER than Tennessee....
AND yet ... Kentucky lost!!!! GBO!!!
Because we played a better all around game when Kentucky played great.
Did not like the way the QUAD Technical went down, but was not surprised.

The Quad tech was BS. We deserved 0 techs but I could maybe see Tobe getting one. Gainey did nothing.

This is the fourth time an opponent has scored 100+ in Rupp. The others are SW Louisiana (1989), Arkansas (1992) and VMI (2008).

I’m listening to Vol network. A couple of interesting points.

• ZZ game MVP. I thought it would go to JJJ but ZZ had one he$& of a game with 26 points, too, and 13 assists.

•Zz said the players stayed in the locker room for about an 1.5 to 2 hours after the JR loss. They discussed the need to play loose, play with confidence, and shoot with confidence instead of turnovers.

•the players feel 8 players can start for this team

We scored 100+ vs Kentucky in 1975, 1979, 1990, 1992, and tonight. The first four times were at home.

They’re pathetic defense had the biggest effect. Worse D I’ve seen in the SEC this year…well Arkansas is pretty bad too!

We wore them out early when they were overplaying DK and we extended possessions for late in clock scores.
