aidoo missed 4 shots from 8'-12' range early. twice he missed the entire rim. once again our point guard missed a lot and kept shooting. i think it was the difference. our point guard missed front end of free throws twice. playing too tight is how it's currently being explained.

i'm sure we'd take a big man although we're sitting pretty good. estrella has to step up and carr along with dillione. we don't have a recruit. need portal infusion under the basket

ZZ was afraid to shoot after so many misses. JJJ did not get enough looks at all. He did not ever go cold, but rather did not get the ball. Hopefully, Aidoo had the flu bug. He looked weak and gutted. It was not his day at all. We have to make 80% of the 8-10 footer floaters and open jump shots. We didn’t today.

Too much focus on getting the ball to Knecht. They were all over him. He had a great offensive game, but defensively he was lacking. When ZZ was open in the corner, several times, Knecht would not pass it to him. Afraid he would miss is my guess. Poor SV looked like he was near death. He was white as a sheet. I praise him for trying.

We could have been up by twenty in the first half if Aidoo could have scored on those open 10 -12 footers he missed 3 or 4. The refs were obviously in favor of Purdue. You can’t dismiss that fact. We could have and pretty much did overcome the lame calls we got.

What I hated to see was how soft our hands were grabbing and holding onto the flipping ball. How many rebound attempts did we lose out of bounds. Send those guys to my farm and I will strengthen their hands. They need to milk a few cows before practice and the fingers and grip will strengthen.

Estrella had a monumental task and he tried. He learned a lot to make him a dominant force in the years to come. Gainey will be huge next year. We need Carr to step it up.

I hated this loss and it just wasn’t meant to be. Maybe next year will be like 1998 football season and we can win it when no one expects us to win. Go Vols!

You can believe if duke wins today coach K will be on the horn to the ncaa to try to head off the the edey officiating bias. It will be interesting to see how that game would be called.

What is tough about saying "root for Purdue?"

Are you a Vol fan? Your credentials are seriously in question. Wtf would waste their capital on talking up Edey in this moment?

I hate to keep point this out but we lost when Aidoo decided he wasn't going to challenge Edey and make him foul him. He was too worried with getting his shot blocked but he ended up being just as bad when you flat out miss without much effort from Edey.

We had basically no inside game. I see no way UCONN's effort is that putrid. They will challenge Edey because their coach told them to and they will follow through on it. You gotta challenge the guy in order to have a chance to draw the foul. Edey was getting away with push in the back on rebounds so no chance to make him hesitate with aggressiveness.

Just a few final thoughts. Aidoo has been Aidoo all year. He cannot stand up to someone his size or bigger. He plays too weak. Sure, he had several good games during the year but not when he was matched up with someone his size or bigger. Sure has been a pleasure watching Dalton this year. What a talent. Obviously, Zeigler had an off night. If he had made a couple of outside shots, maybe the outcome would have been different. Estrella, IMO, played an admirable game since he played sparingly during the season. I hope that Cade Phillips and Estrella get some kind of offensive game outside the lane during the offseason. None of our big guys were able to draw Edey out of the lane.
I am not going to rail against the refs, but 3 second violation obviously doesn't exist anymore. When you have a 7'4' 300 lb guy in the middle you are not going to move him out of the lane. I wished TN had tried to front him some.

Very good year for TN and they have nothing to be ashamed of. They played a heck of a game.

Finally, there was not choking in the end. You cannot expect a player to shoot 100% from the field.

Let’s see how short his NBA career is before he goes overseas. He killed us today no doubt. His game is weak and he has not faced much opposition.

I haven't seen it either. No young player has dazzled. You normally at least have one.

Aidoo didn’t show up. But we as a team and he as a player struggled all year against teams with a true big.

ZZ didn’t have a good game either. Going 3-12 from the field happens . . . But your star guard can’t go 2-5 from the line with one of those being the front end of a one and one.

Maybe moreso though than the shooting is I never thought their guards would drive him the way they did at times.

Yeah but if ya watched, #3 was shoving him off with his off hand on almost every drive and wasn't called for that either.

I don’t see a place for Edey’s game in the NBA. The NBA has very few back to the basket centers anymore. Just not part of the pro game. If you can’t run or be versatile like Nikola Jocic, you’re in trouble. No place for a slow mountain.

Nah, he'll never amount to anything in the NBA, not athletic enough and too slow.
