I agree with you on that. There’s an art to working the refs and making your point made when the chips are down and the breaks aren’t going your way. I think Barnes does this in a way that’s admirable and arguably, the right way. But he doesn’t do himself favors when people see him going nuclear on his players and being a choirboy with the refs.
Again, it’s optics. Upon some reflection, I thought better of it myself after I went too far with my criticism. At the same time, I completely understand the reaction against Barnes from multiple levels. We can only go by what we see and it’s easy to forget that this isn’t Barnes style.
