The Official #6 Tennessee @ #9 Arizona Game Thread, 10:30 PM ET, ESPN2

Snap and clear. Time to move on. It was always going to be a neigh impossible task to win that game. I’m just worried about JJJ at this point. Feels concerning he essentially hasn’t played this year.

The one game or so (post injury) to me he didn’t look his normal self.

I ain't even mad. I probably could be. It's not because I have apathy. It's because it was a tough road game against a top 10 opponent throwing the kitchen sink at us without one of our best players and a bad shooting night. Then a couple of plays either way and we are walking out with the win. Last, it's a long season and if I get upset now then I will lose some time off my life from stress. If we see these jokers again then we are probably giving them an L.

That's fine, but the whole "coach has to get a T/work the refs" has been a silly argument for years. And it boils down to fans are usually so simplistic that they only seem think the coach is "working" the refs when they are red faced and screaming and get T'd up.

And that's just really, really stupid.

I agree with you on that. There’s an art to working the refs and making your point made when the chips are down and the breaks aren’t going your way. I think Barnes does this in a way that’s admirable and arguably, the right way. But he doesn’t do himself favors when people see him going nuclear on his players and being a choirboy with the refs.

Again, it’s optics. Upon some reflection, I thought better of it myself after I went too far with my criticism. At the same time, I completely understand the reaction against Barnes from multiple levels. We can only go by what we see and it’s easy to forget that this isn’t Barnes style.

I knew we were never winning this game the moment we beat them last year. Arizona is tough at home. Yes they got home cooking from the refs. But so did we last year. This is a quality loss. Unlike the Colorado game. Doubt we fall out of the top 10.

Why? Which one you think he has more control over? Which one do you honestly think responds better?

Just not when we needed them.
Your posts are always either stupid or just generally douchey. The sad part is I dont even think youre even trying to troll, these are just the thoughts you have. I hope for your sake I'm wrong about that

I’m not arguing that point, I agree with you.

What I’m saying is I understand why people have the reaction they do after one of the worst officiated games I’ve ever watched. Just like Barnes does with his players, fans do the same. Barnes is familiar and an easy target, whereas complaining about the refs feels a bit like peeing in the wind it’s done so much and doesn’t help anything.

Yes but he also has to hit some open shots, which he isn’t doing. Maybe his shoulder is the reason, but he hurt us tonight offensively. Shooting around 25% from three on the year.

You were calling to take him out of the game. That’s completely ridiculous. That’s all I’m saying.

I think it is fair to not want him to have played tonight. I'd rather he have healed up than play in a game that was always going to be a likely loss, especially one thats not a conference game

So Vescovi didn’t go 2-12 from the field? Did he miss an open crucial shot down the stretch?
