The *OFFICIAL* Brandon Spikes thread (merged)

The whole thing has now taken on a life of its own. Sports media now turning against Florida in an effort to make some hay and get some viewership in what is otherwise a very boring season. This will die down, but look for PTI and ESPN to start touting anti-UF stories.

They always start knocking the teams at the top. Keeps people tuned in.

you mean they would take little meaningless stories and blow them up to get viewers? We Vol fans had no idea they would ever do that

If it happened like lawgator is suggesting, why did he get suspended at all?

oh, because LG is full of ish.

Ha!

Yes, but for different reasons. You guys got targeted for so long because of Fulmer and it got to the point it was just easy.

Us now because people are sick of UF. Can't blame them, really. Same thing happened to USC, Notre Dame, Miami, all over time.

That and the fact that UF doled out a punishment fitting a curfew violation.

What a crock! UFs arrest record has more to do with this than any agenda ESPN might have.

This has become a joke and Slive running to the rescue of little Urbie from CLK and then the "dont complain about the refs when they throw the game for UF" has made Slive look even worse.

I expect something to happen this week. If not, you will see a HUGE media uproar about this and I would suspect Slive will not survive.

This year we got targeted because the Florida coach is a whining baby who cried to his daddy every time our coach mentioned anything to do with the state of Florida.

It couldn't possibly have anything to do with the fact of refs/replay officials blatantly favoring UF, as well as players getting caught in HD gouging eyes out, could it?

You've lost all touch with reality.

Yeah, I noticed that. That's not even a slap on the wrist. That's more like a tickle.

Where is Tebow's "turn the other cheek" mentality? Why isn't he condemning Spikes for his behavior? Reason - he actually IS the turbodouche everyone secretly knew he was.

If things were different they would be clearly, but saying that if B.Spikes would have actually damaged one or both eyes it would not be a suspension, but criminal charges.

It's not really even a matter of hating Florida. It was a move that could have impaired the player life long. It was completely uncalled for. Slive has bigger fish to fry though, gotta make sure he censors those coaches around the SEC rather than actually protecting the athletes themselves.

The thread title is misleading. It gave me the impression that Spikes would be punished for his actions.
