On the upside, UF and Meyer have gotten plenty of media attention and boots his street cred which pulls in more big recruits (at least according to VN). :good!:
Perhaps Urban's decision will dam the river of tears that have been cried on this forum the past 4 days.

You are trying way too hard.Perhaps Urban's decision will dam the river of tears that have been cried on this forum the past 4 days. On the upside, UF and Meyer have gotten plenty of media attention and boots his street cred which pulls in more big recruits (at least according to VN). :good!:
I didn't know your program had sunk to the point that you needed it. I guess that you, being more of an insider, would know best how much and what kind of publicity UF needs. IMO it is indeed a sorry program that could not rely on last years NC for cred. I guess that's what decades of sucktitude does to a program.
I agree..Here's what I don't get.
Meyer, Foley (UF AD) and Slive talked this whole thing over before UF stated the 1/2 game punishment.
It amazes me that those three could not foresee that UF would have to suspend Spikes for a full game in order to avoid a media backlash.
Now Meyer, Foley, UF, Slive and the SEC all end up with egg on their faces and Spikes ends up having to sit for a full game anyway to try to cool down the media backlash.
A full game suspension from the get go probably would have gotten UF Meyer Slive and the SEC predominantly positive press for sending at least a reasonably strong message that Spikes actions and those like it will not be tolerated.
I'm amazed that Foley and Slive did not demonstrate better judgement on this. Duh!
UF and the SEC have marketing and public / media relations pros on their payroll that should understand the landscape well enough to know that there are anti-UF and anti-SEC sentiments and pot-stirrers (e.g., ESPN has plenty) out there. Meyer, Foley and Slive blew it.I agree..
IMHO I believe they thought that half a game would be accepted and did NOT expect so many people to be outraged not only by what they saw but with the punishment. I personally do not believe Brandon simply CHOSE to be suspended an entire game but I believe that this was just part of the plan to clean up the matter. Makes Brandon look good...makes CUM look good...See what I mean?
