he was the proverbial "rock" of the team. As long as they keep churning out rookies like they have been, no worries. They will win the division and then bow out. So frustrating!!!!

I'm going to miss LEO, and I have a feeling that Bobby Cox, and the rest of the Braves are too. :( :( :(

The Brave are going to have to resighn Furcal and get some bullpen and get some starters or they are going to struggle this season.

yea im a huge brave fan and we MUST re-sign furcal....he's the key to the offense...once he's on base....andurw and chipper drive him in

Saw in the paper today where Jordan is working out at First. I hope he sticks, not bad at several positions and not bad off the bench. I think he should be able to take the old man's place and do what he did if he stays healthy. It also mentioned the battle in leftfield. I love the way Langerhans plays so I would keep him and trade Johnson for bullpen help.

i dont see why they cant trade a prospect like kelly or ryan and get a better outfeilder or a great closer i bet anything danny stupid kolb will work wonders again in miwalukee i swear he hated ATLANTA but hey ATLANTA hated him so were even

I'm still waiting for Todd Helton to become a Brave.That would be nice.I know it probably will never happen though. :banghead:
However, I did see him play against the Braves a few years ago.

I dont know why everybody thinks Helton will play for the Braves someday but Ive always visioned it, it would be nice

When I hear Todd Helton's name, sometimes I recall the story when he was at fiitball practice at UT, he was called to go in and he had a sandwich in his hoodie pocket. Pretty funny.

I'm going to the Braves game either Friday or Saturday and can't wait. I'll probably need a program just for the pitchers much less the position players. :question:

That bullpen is pretty much totally revamped . . . thank goodness. Position-wise I guess the only changes are McCann catching full time and Renteria at SS.

The big questions position wise are who will be the back-ups?

Probably looking at Pete Orr and Wilson Betemit backing up the middle infield Jarrod Saltamaccia backing up at catcher and probably eventually splitting time. Matt Diaz will probably make the team and be in the mix in the outfield along with Johnson and Langerhans in left field.

The big question is whether Adam Laroche can handle facing lefties and who will be the backup at 1st now that Julio Franco is being overpaid to be a Met. Last I heard, Brian Jordan was taking ground balls and trying to make the team as a combo backup 1st baseman/outfielder.

I think "Salty" will be starting the season at AA. They signed Todd Pratt to back-up McCann. Diaz probably will platoon with Langerhans/Johnson in left. James Jurries has been tearing it up this spring so he could make it and platoon with LaRoche at 1st. Betemit and Orr are a lock. It really depends on how many pitchers BC carries to start the season. If they go with 12 then Jurries will probably be squeezed out. John Foster is injured and could miss the whole season so Johnson could be traded for a lefty reliever.

I love the Braves! They are awesome. I hope they go to the World Series this year and don't blow it.

That was the 2nd Spring game I have been to and hope to make it a tradition now that I have a grandson, the girls just are not interested. They got killed by the Astroes but it was mostly because of plays made by guys that were not even on the Spring roster. Salty sure looks like a player, Davies pitched and looked good (1 unearned run). :dance2:

I saw that Jordan made the team and they sent Jurries to Richmond. I hate that for Jurries but Jordan hit almost as well and they probably need or can use him in the clubhouse. He also looked like he was in great shape. Go Braves :cross:
