The Official Braves Thread Of Volnation

The break is finally over and the Braves can start back at quietly sneaking up on the Nats. Chipper played in his first rehab game last night, went 1-3 2 RBI. He said batting and fielding were fine, but base running was still a tad painful. HURRY BACK CHIPPER!

In the meantime, the Braves will be pounding the Mets at Shea tonight.

Braves are within 1.5 games, and are 12 games over .500

Must suck to hate the Braves. They have played more rookies than I can ever remember being played on a single team in a season, and they are knocking on the National's door.

GO BRAVES!

ha, so so so, still think derek wont finish in the top 5?

WOW! Braves just came from 5 down in the 9th inning to tie the game, and there's still nobody out!?

Braves are in first!!!!..Beat the Nats tonight by a walk-off walk by Andruw Jones.

I was at the game last night. The crowd was incredible; reminded me of a college football game.

Don't know if you could hear it on TV or not, but after Laroche tied the game with a sac fly in the 9th, the crowd broke into the chant "STILL THE EXPOS!!" :laugh1:

Another day, another win over the Nats. DC really needs to go get a bat if they want to contend.

Another 1 run win. How they pitched out of that 9th inning, I don't know. Jay Powell blowing out his elbow was gruesome to watch though.

man right when i saw your message i turned it on to see if icould see it on espn..and right when i did i saw it..that sucks real bad for jay, hope he recovers fully and quickly

Sadly, that's probably the last time you'll see Jay Powell. He was coming off Tommy John surgery anyway, so that's probably the end of his career.

Furcal has hit 2 homers today and the braves are leading 4-3 in the 7th..Giles is on 2nd with 0 outs

Just traded Roman Colon to Detroit for Kyle Farnsworth. Typical Schuerholz deal, maybe not a glitzy trade, but the Braves got the big arm that they sorely needed in the bullpen.

From 5 1/2 down to now 5 1/2 to 6 games up in less than a month! AWESOME BABY! Sorry to see Chipper go down again. :bad:
Braves have to be able to beat the Cards in the playoffs. Think that's their main competition to get to the WS.

Does the team with the best record automatically play the Wild Card in the NLDS? It's going to be kind of strange this year because it looks like the wild card team is probably going to be about 10 games better than whoever wins the putrid NL West.

The good news is he stated before today's game, he would be back this weekend. :D

Watching the game now and he was up stretching so he "might" could pinch hit. :w00t:

Who was saying that the Braves wouldn't win the division this year? GO BRAVES!!!!!!!
