The Official Braves Thread Of Volnation

wooo...braves win in 12 innings..Giles hits a walkoff single and betemit scores from 2nd..

Freak, Braves up by 6 games..

Sweet. I have to admit that I haven't watched much this year.

Well . . . you ought to be watching. This is probably the most exciting Braves team since the late 90s.

You think so?

Anyone watching the game today? Braves are winning 8-3 in bottom of the 3rd with Francoeur batting and he just smacked one yard! Braves look to have thsi one well in hand right now!

The East is over now.....Washington, Philly, Florida, and NY might as well forget it, unless something odd happens

Braves are on a "glide path" to the NL East Division Championship. They won't pull a Phillies "swoon" (Phillies blew a 6 game lead one season and lost to the Cards down the stretch).

braves beat dodgers tonight 10-2..Hudson pitches 8 strong innings and Andruw hits, and continues leading home run race...with...38..

who do you think will get rookie of the year in the NL will it br jeff or willy taveraz of the astros or it could be zach duke of the pirates

If Franceour keeps playing like this, I don't see how they are going to keep the award from him.

Note to rest of National League: Stop throwing him strikes and for goodness sake quit trying to run on him!?

all th guys on baseball tonight are saying he will not have enough at bats for the award and by the way how could they say zach duke could get the award, he has only started 6 games all year

If he ends up hitting .330+ with 18-20 HRs, 50 RBI and 15 outfield assists, I don't see how they are going to keep him from getting the award.

One thing on Zach Duke . . . they are going to start limiting his work since he's never thrown this many innings in a season, so his win totals will probably tail off a little.

i really think he should get the award, but if he doesent he could still get it next year or then again he coulg just get it back to back years that is if it is possible

It's not possible. Once he gets 130 ABs he loses rookie eligibility.

Franceour is quite a player. Can you imagine what his HR stats might look like if he'd been playing the whole season? He'd be challenging Andruw for the HR title. :cross: Is it just "rookie luck" or is he that good. To me looks like the Braves have themselves a very good player in the outfield for the future. Build around him. Hopefully they can get some more good pitching from their farm system and get some good "free agents" in the meantime. Gotta keep some "top notch" pitching!

The only thing that concerns me about Franceour is his lack of walks. Yeah, it's great that he's hitting .370 right now, but eventually he'll cool off his aggressiveness will start working against him.

That's what's so great about Chipper Jones. No matter how bad he's swinging he always makes pitchers work to get him out.
