I live down here in Ga and they liked Martenez (sp) when he was the DB coach just thought he was in over his head as DC. most really didnt want to see him fired, just wanted him to go back to being a position coach.

Gruden was fired by Tampa Bay and the Raiders. Is he average too?

95-81 regular season record
.540 win %
5-4 playoff record
.563 or worse in 7 of 14 seasons

won 1 Super Bowl ( so did Don McCafferty )

With what? Dawson? Humphries? Strong?

Again, even ESPN reported that Tennessee believed we had Strong locked up.

And wasn't it a consensus that Dawson was locked up until some shady stuff went down? Like the possibility of money?

I remember Cam Newton was basically a done deal to Miss State. He was in the crowd cowbelling it up. Then Auburn swooped in with money.

It happens... I am positive Skeeter has been right about way more stuff than he has been wrong about. I'm not sure what kind of satisfaction you get by going around saying he's wrong about everything when even sites like 247, Scout, Rivals, ESPN insiders say similar stuff AFTER Skeeter says it.

If you don't want to believe it, don't. No point in going around saying he's wrong 50 times.

If you think a winning record in the NFL is average, I think it's safe to say you don't follow the NFL very closely.

And I like how you list winning 1 Super Bowl as being average. List all of the coaches that haven't won a Super Bowl and all of the coaches that have won multiple Super Bowls.

You also seem to forget that he had the Patriots beat the year they won their first Super Bowl. The Raiders got robbed on that tuck garbage.

Martinez was fired by both Georgia and Oklahoma.

John Jancek was fired by Georgia.

This staff pretty average, far from the "best staff in America" by a wide margin.

Most coordinators are fired to some degree. If they were above their positions you would have many head coaches. We don't need all former head coaches on our staff.

This group has expierence and I like it.....alot!

So guess we can add Mark Elder ‏as the Tight Ends coach. It says on his twitter account that he is the Tight Ends coach at the University of Tennessee.

Again Al Wilson cannot coach here he does not have a degree!

How certain are you that a degree is required to coach here? I'm not disputing what you said, just trying to gauge how sure you are.

I would love to have Al Wilson coaching here. It'd be a shame if the lack of a degree kept him from doing so.

He has also stated numerous times he doesnt want to. This crap cracks me up everytime we have an opening. Its like the same people that think peyton should be head coach with no experience when he said he doesnt see himself coaching immediately after football.

Average staff so far.. Tee will be a good thing... Imo any average coaching staff should win 8 games in todays world.. At TN.

Does this staff inspire 10 wins??? They r on the clock.

That is true on Cam, but then the $186,000 showed up.

Add Elder as TE/ST and Martin to WR or Wiest and you have a solid staff who can coach and recruit.

EVerything I've read about Martinez says that his defenses are pretty awful, but he keeps getting jobs at big-time programs. He must be a heck of a recruiter? I don't know.

I put a sticky on this thread so it's easier for everyone to keep up with. I went ahead and added Elder to the list as requested. Let's try to keep this thread on topic so everyone can have access to the information they are seeking.

Thanks

With Martinez as DC at Georgia, their defense was terrible. Hopefully, he will do a better job only coaching the DBs. That's why Richt had to let him go.
