The Official Jones Coaching Staff Thread (Updated)

Martinez was fired by both Georgia and Oklahoma.

John Jancek was fired by Georgia.

This staff pretty average, far from the "best staff in America" by a wide margin.

Why dont you give Coach Jones time, he is putting a good staff together, dont shovel dirt on him to he dies.:good!:

I think its critical you do whatever you have to to get Tee. CBJ is selling the fans and recruits future Championships, SEC and National Championship. From the names I've seen that are likely on the staff, the only person with both those rings is Tee Martin.

Butch meets with Tee. Butch then heads to Nashville to recruit. Jalen Ramsey is from Brentwood. Tee is tight with Jalen Ramsey.

from football scoop...the staff is done just waiting on word about Tee

Tennessee: Butch has his full staff with the exception of one offensive slot nailed down (potentially Tee Martin). On the offensive side of the ball you have Bajakian, Elder, Mahoney and Jay Graham. On the defensive side you have Jancek, Stripling, Thigpen and Martinez. Dave Lawson is also coming from Cincinnati to serve as head strength coach

I like keeping Graham and getting Tee if he can swing that, but let's be honest: you say you're bringin in the best staff in America, don't give us a bunch of your old Cincy staff and expect anyone except the biggest homers to buy it.

continuity of a staff is important...and coach jones and his guys have been succesful...He also added CJG, CWM, CTT, and possibly CTM to it so to him it is the best staff in the country

I buy it and I'm no homer. Put together the best coaches into a staff and you don't have the best staff. Put together a group of decent coaches that mesh together and you have an example for a group of kids to follow in forming a functional team. We don't want personalities that will clash we want people who can work together. Believe it or not that is what they had at cincy.

The coaching staff is coming together nicely, and the addition of Tee would be absolutely huge. However, one thing that bothers me, despite their previous SEC experience, is that the Martinez-Jancek combo's defense for UGA in 2009 gave up some big numbers... Do you guys think a few more years of experience for them, plus a role-flip (Jancek as DC) will make a big difference? Our defense has a long way to go... will they be able to handle it?
