The Official NCAA Selection Show Thread (Monday May 27 NOON EST ESPN2 )

Anyone that expected us to miss a potential Wake super regional matchup doesn’t know how these selection committees operate. It’s 100% about the storyline and the 💰. We have a rematch with Southern Miss, a potential Burns homecoming, and if we are fortunate enough to make it to Omaha we have a Florida State team coached by Link Jarrett. Guess who he coached prior to FSU….of yeah the Notre Dame team that put our 2022 team out. They do not care one bit about setting the higher teams up for success. They want it to be March Madness in June. It will always be that way.

Plus if they do, Burns only pitches one Super Regional game not all 3.
Our veterans have many ABs against Burns and know him very well. With that said, UT has to take care of Regionals first. Personally, I’d love a Wake at UT matchup. It would be a wild evening at LNS. Again, first things first as N KY has a great offense and S Miss has won 40 games 4 straight years.

Bro speaking facts.

Oh snap! Chase will have to face an amped up Blake Burke and Christian Moore, in Knoxville!

Storylines. Vols sent home retiring Southern Miss coach last year. I believe I saw that ECU has a retiring coach, too.
Edit: Fact checked myself. I don’t see anything about Godwin retiring. He is a young man at 46. Obviously confused him with someone else and shouldn’t have posted without checking that out.

When it got announced last year that Hattiesburg was going to host the Supers over Knoxville, a Vol fan on Twitter made a tongue in cheek joke about Hattiesburg being so crappy that it didn’t even have an Applebee’s.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the first Applebee's shot on X was actually myself.

Why not, TV revenue powers the sport. You think the pageantry of the SEC/NCAA tourney is for the fans in attendance?
