It’s an exciting matchup but it should take place in Omaha.

That may be the case but would you rather play ECU/Wake or Oregon State in a super regional? That program has way too much success in this tournament and I wouldn’t want any part of them in a super. ECU has never made it out of supers in their entire history and Wake has only 1 CWS appearance over the last 70 years. Oregon State has won 3 national championships in the last 18 years. We got the better super matchup by a long shot.

It is dumbfounding how bad the Big 10 is at baseball compared to football and basketball. Nebraska is the best they have to offer and they are 28th in RPI. They literally put zero effort into their baseball programs.

Wouldn’t shock me one bit. I’m still confused at how ECU managed to get a hosting spot even though they didn’t win their conference tournament and they finished 22nd RPI. That’s a guaranteed 2 seed for anyone else but they have a guy working on the inside. Indiana State got hosed, and not by a little bit. They deserved far better than even the 16 seed. Should have gotten a higher seed than Virginia.

I honestly don’t care who is lined up in front of us.
Not being rude, I just think we are to the point where I’m not worried about anyone. Sure, we could lose to anyone in the field but we back down from no one and I’ll put my money on Tony V and the boys!

Agreed as that would be ideal but I don’t think Wake is making it to Omaha, and I don’t think the “powers that be“ wanted to miss out on this potential matchup. It’s a made for TV event that would get more impressions/eyes in Omaha vs Supers.
