I have to think Indys pitching would be shot by game three.
A three win day for them would be a miracle.

It’s pick your poison. USM will have the better pitching if we face them, but a bad offense. Indiana will have a better offense than USM, but no pitching.

I don’t really know which I would prefer to face.

That just means more baseball for your buck! Can’t imagine leaving a regional game because it ran too long, for baseball you budget 3-4 hours. Just more evidence that a lot of the tickets are in the wrong hands.

I guess I’m old school, but I’ve taught my family that when we go to games, even if they are season tickets (football/basketball) or purchased like we did these, we stay for the entire game. Not only is there the money element, but can’t fathom leaving early being at something that I love.

We’ve had a blast down here this weekend. Yeah, the game yesterday was long and at times a groaner, but watching people leave was pretty disappointing. It’s the NCAA’s in what we hope to be a magical season beyond what we’ve already accomplished. Leaving doesn’t make sense to me at all.

Hopefully we can finish this today, but if not, plan on being here tomorrow as well.

This is just so true. I flew in for the weekend, and I’ve been disappointed by our fans. So many open seats behind home plate and in the “prime” donor territory that were empty both games for Tennessee. And then in my section where my family’s season tickets are, these two older guys, drunk as a skunk, were loudly complaining about how bored they were and talking on the phone all night and left in the 5th inning to go home.

The worst part about having a smallish stadium is way too many people who couldn’t care less about the actual game and are only there for a social experiment are taking seats from fans who care and would be engaged in the game.

I don’t understand how the number 1 seed isn’t playing on espn or espn 2. Espn + is a bummer.
TV will be announced I'd say around 3 or so after the early games and what my guide shows for the time we play is espnu...but teams TBD and as far as espn and espn2 is mlb contract for Sunday night baseball and espn2 is slotted for women's world series

I can’t recall fans ever clearing out early like yesterday in our regional runs. I honestly think it did have more to do with how long the game went on, but I do see Tony’s point as well.
The guess the seven inning stretch time was something like 3 hours and 7 minutes. Some of us had been there for 2 games and were beat. I heard Marcus introduced as I had just passed through gate and thought to myself in this situation Marcus would likely not be locked in and thought the game may last 2 more hours.

I drove home. Stopped at Weigel’s for Moonpie milk and made it home to Walland, the game over tweet came through as turned off my pickup.

2 ibuprofens, 2 Benadryl and I’m ready for church this morning. Barely

This sounds oddly familiar to where we were at (RF3 on Friday/Saturday). Very similar experience.

Met up with some friends that got us down behind the dugout for todays games thanks to a couple of their original invites leaving early yesterday to go back home, so I guess there is a silver lining to the leavers.

I know it is hard to stay hyped up for an entire 4 hour game. But some people at the game last night around me were acting like it was painful to even be there. Why even show up? Like, if it’s so awful no one is forcing you to be there.

Give the tickets to someone who cares and stay home and nap in your recliner. It’s not that hard.

As much as those tickets cost, I cant imagine leaving-- many of us would love to have a ticket to see them.

I might be close to being the “get off my lawn” guy with my rants on this , but yesterday I saw grown men and women acting like petulant 4 year olds, while the kids they brought were the most engaged fans in the stadium.

Maybe it’s because I don’t get to go to a ton of baseball games, but man, even in a long and groan inducing game like yesterday, it was an absolute thrill to be there. I guess my only wish is that people need to appreciate what they have now.

I think some portions of our fanbase are already spoiled with the success we have had recently and forget just how recently we were the laughing stock of college athletics in all 3 sports. It comes with the territory, and every fanbase has knuckleheads, but I just remember how electric the Super Regional against LSU in 2021 was and last night’s atmosphere was not that.

I'm actually concerned that is the one thing that runs him off. I am well aware I'm crazy, but he's mentioned fan attendance and 'participation' in several spots. I know, I know...this is where @vol66 says he's not leaving.

Every fanbase has weirdos that yell out random stuff that makes no sense. I am not concerned at all about that being a reason he leaves.
