If tickets are all digital then they can tracked, a good system in my opinion would be that if a ticket is not used in 70-75 percent of games you lose the right to purchase tickets for that postseason and the following season. I also think have season ticket “packages” like how the MLB does it could be nice. So you could maybe buy a Conference 15 game package, or a Midweek package, or just a Friday or Saturday or Sunday packageI tend to agree but this will never happen because the season ticket holders and donors will pitch a fit. Selfishly, as a family with season tickets, I’d hate to lose my access to going to regionals when they happen, but I do wish there was a way to understand who actually uses their tickets and who doesn’t and find a solution to getting more butts in seats.
Definitely a myriad of ways to a) make money selling seats/tickets to games, b) ensuring a full house with butts in every seat and c) tracking all sorts of data on ticket holders and seats. We should be able to walk up and acquire a legit seat someone can’t use. There should be a motivation to transfer/second sell an unused ticket even if your in the bottom of the ninth inning. As a graduate of UT Systems Engineering, this can and should be done. Great training project for UT students. If tickets are all digital then they can tracked, a good system in my opinion would be that if a ticket is not used in 70-75 percent of games you lose the right to purchase tickets for that postseason and the following season.
