Every fanbase has weirdos that yell out random stuff that makes no sense. I am not concerned at all about that being a reason he leaves.
Oh, I didn't mean yelling out stuff, although that shouldn't happen, i.e. yelling at Burke about mid-season from the fella that had too many cold ones. I meant fan attendance and participation (without yelling at our players ) in general.

I might be close to being the “get off my lawn” guy with my rants on this , but yesterday I saw grown men and women acting like petulant 4 year olds, while the kids they brought were the most engaged fans in the stadium.

Maybe it’s because I don’t get to go to a ton of baseball games, but man, even in a long and groan inducing game like yesterday, it was an absolute thrill to be there. I guess my only wish is that people need to appreciate what they have now.
That would require a spirit of gratitude. 🙏

I'm actually concerned that is the one thing that runs him off. I am well aware I'm crazy, but he's mentioned fan attendance and 'participation' in several spots. I know, I know...this is where @vol66 says he's not leaving.

Fans have expectations. So do Coaches. The fan aspect of the experience is something fans can control. When we’re one and done in Hoover and we were happy just to be there fan apathy is one thing, this is not that. Put the tickets on sale and let everyone camp out, stand in line, sleep in the rain in line. Then…Coach will have his Hornets nest.

I tend to agree but this will never happen because the season ticket holders and donors will pitch a fit. Selfishly, as a family with season tickets, I’d hate to lose my access to going to regionals when they happen, but I do wish there was a way to understand who actually uses their tickets and who doesn’t and find a solution to getting more butts in seats.

We do have our expectations, so do our coaches and players. I realize, this isn't fan apathy...there's a big ticket demand...it's a matter of ticket availability. Seems to me....and perhaps I'm completely off base here (no pun intend)...that's on the AD. I suppose it bothers me to watch a game and see empty seats....I think that gets to CTV as well. He sees it, he hears it. Also, I'm glad we're no longer wondering IF we get to Hoover...just what are we going to do there.

Welp, I guess it’s good to know they’ll get loud about something.

Ha! So true. Easiest way to get a rise out of the donors is to threaten taking their seats away that they don’t even use.

Maybe the AD should look into creating an application or feature of the UT sports app where you can easily donate tickets that you don’t plan to use. Or that might already be an option that people are just also too lazy to use. Idk.

Of course it’s about availability. If you sell out ALL the seats to every home game before the season starts with first dibs going to the same people for Regionals, you only allow 300 students…in what world should that happen…if I’m Danny White I guess I do the same thing, but I’m a fan, that sux.

You can return yours and they get donated to military and…I don’t remember who else.

Don’t blame CTV in the least. There’s a very loud and sizable amount of people wanting tickets but can’t get them due to a couple reasons - 1. Price and 2. Supply. Then you turn on TV and see entire rows of seats empty. Ive held back on getting baseball season tickets for many years just because the product was somewhat of an afterthought for the administration and having to take time off during basketball season to attend games, now that’s changed and I’m wishing I hadn’t waited.

I’m glad we’ve got a coach that sees the issue like a lot of us do. He’s pushing every button he has to help correct the issues with the stadium and trying to spur the fan base to expect more for themselves.

I think the only real option is you could put an additional charge on top of your season tickets to “reserve” the right to buy postseason tickets, otherwise you forfeit your seat for resale. But, again, that would piss off a lot of season ticket holders.

The good news is we’re adding about 2,000 more seats and this will be the last season where this is a huge issue. I think once capacity reaches that 8,500 mark you’ll see less of a problem. It wont completely go away, but it will be better.
