The Official Tennessee @ #8 Alabama Game Thread, 3:30pm ET, CBS

See PJ there are 4 quarters to football and the team with the most points after 4 quarters wins.

Are you with me so far?

Now here is where it might get tough....

When there are roughly only 2 Minutes left in a half and it's tied...that means roughly 120 seconds or of you hold all the fingers on your hands up 12 times...and you have 3 time outs left....you don't run the ball 3 straight times.

You try to score.

The only reason we got in FG range is because Hurd broke about 5 tackles.

It is called playing scared and why we have lost a lot more games this year than we should have.

Does this help you understand any better?

All your post shows us you have zero clue what is going on. Are you people serious right now?

It's not scared, it's just smart given the opponent

I think Butch played it great. If we are getting the ball after the half, it might of been different mindset. Saban not calling TO's shows he knows he lucky to escape the half not being down 3 to 6 points. You don't want to give bama a chance to get a FG themselves.

WOW you must be a fan and not a coach!!!! No coach in America with a brain would have done anything different than Butch Jones did in that situation. He has made some bone head decisions in earlier games no doubt. But that was a good decision to run the clock out. Hurd made a great play to give us chance for a field goal or td. But Coach Jones played it right!

Les Miles?

Win or lose we'll still be bowl eligible with 8 or 9 wins so I'm satisfied with whatever the results in this game are.

Black and white morality strikes again. There's a happy medium between ultra passivity and hyperaggression. Arguments should have a basis in fact; it's counterproductive to argue merely because you're upset and want to find a scapegoat.

I think most of us are saying if you watch his conversations with refs over the course of the season 75% of them are just letting them know he is there then nods his head or shakes it. Not hyper aggressive.

He is more aggressive today. Some with cause given some of what is going on but he is fighting for our team and usually meets the happy medium to me.

I'm sorry but We should be up 10 points right now and I'm putting directly on Dobbs. His reads are sluggish. He is over analyzing everything. He is a very tough leader, but a rocket scientist. I can only hope it's enough.

He does seem to wait too long to make the throw. On the first drive he had a wr breaking open in the corner but held it too long and took the sack instead.

I do hope you realize every coach out there would have called the same thing Butch did there.

If we dont make it Alabama gets the ball back with timeouts in their pocket. If we get a big play then we might get a chance for points. Coach Jones did the right thing. imho.

Tons of coaches run two minute drills!

When you in a game you are not supposed to win and outmatched on depth and talent you go for every opportunity you get. This is why we don't beat top 25 and teams that are better than us!

I'm sorry....

What team are you a paid coach for?

Last time I checked you're opinion is worth about as much as ours.

Guys, Alabama typically does most of its damage in the first quarter, and we weathered that. We just need to hang in there. Get two or three stops in the third quarter, and we'll be in a reasonable position to pull an upset.

I like this reminder.

No, see what you do on the road in that situation is go to the locker room tied rather than risk a turnover. If you have watched football much at all you should know this. The safe play call turned into a big play by Hurd then changes the game plan to try and go up before the half. Its really simple. Not that hard to understand
