What game did you watch? C Scott had 4 solid contact plate appearances, no K’s and knocked in 1 of our only 2 runs. He played as well as anyone.I guess. Their starter was dominant and ours struggled. I thought we were fortunate to be tied. Same sloppy play cost them in the end. You aren’t going to win many games without clutch hitting. Christian Scott looked like he didn’t even want to be out there.
It really stings to fight our guts out and then fall apart there in the 8th. However I am encouraged about the next two. We've got to keep battling just as hard but there's no way they have anyone left as good as Skenes, who was everything as advertised.
If you’re unable to see that even with Skenes throwing very well and Dollander not having one of his best nights, we still stayed the course and had as good a chance or better to win that game as the 8th inning rolled around, I’m not sure what to tell you. Sometimes you don’t have your best stuff and you make a few miscues here and there, yet you’re still in the game late. Unfortunately, the third out error gift-wrapped a very nice present for LSU. It happens. Players are human and make errors.Lmao what is wrong with our fanbase? How many post on this thread saying stuff like “we gave that game away” or “we gained confidence knowing we can beat them now” etc etc… like what am I missing? We didn’t win a single inning the entire game, not one, we never had a lead on them. Yet so many people think we gave the game away bc of 1 error in the 8th!?!? Like the game/lead was never ours to give away… Lsu had a couple miscues and bad plays, so why didn’t we win? Bc LSU actually capitalized whenever they had an opportunity; and we didn’t. Is that supposed to magically change tomorrow and Saturday? Call me skeptical
Would like to point out a couple of false statements:Lmao what is wrong with our fanbase? I’m confused about the “we didn’t win a single inning the entire game” statement. How does that work? I’ve been watching baseball 99 years and didn’t know that stat existed. Is it runs alone that counts? Is it strikeouts? Is it great defensive plays?Would like to point out a couple of false statements:
1. We were up 1-0, so we did have a lead.
2. They had two passed balls and we drove the runner home, thus capitalized on their mistakes.
