Skenes could definitely be the number one pick in next year's major league draft with his pitch arsenal.

Not only his velocity but his command of his pitches. He threw where he wanted to. He’s MLB ready in my opinion. Difference between he & Dollander last night. Dolly hasn’t had same command this year yet as he did last year.

What did y’all think of Dickey behind the plate? I know he’s not Taylor defensively, but I thought he looked more comfortable last night than he did last week back there.
He looked better than LSU’s catcher that allowed a run to score due to passed balls so that’s good enough for me.

I was really impressed especially considering his limited amount of reps thus far. Dickey is just a competitor and leader. His bat is lethal.

They didn't run on him like I thought they would, meaning try to steal 2nd every time someone was on first... The throw from his knees was impressive, though it was a mistake by Halvorsen. I think we're better off behind the plate then we were last year.

This might be blasphemy but I’m starting to think Vanderbilt might be the team to beat in the conference. There’s a good chance they are 9-0 or 8-1 after the weekend. They have been smacking teams here lately.

Would like to point out a couple of false statements:

1. We were up 1-0, so we did have a lead.

2. They had two passed balls and we drove the runner home, thus capitalized on their mistakes.

ONE MORE.... early on we benefited when they did not capitalize when we walked them or hit them with a pitch. I was really hoping we would take advantage of those misses.

Given the way Merritt has been slumping lately, I wonder if it might be time to give him a night off. Maybe start Dreiling in LF and Stark at DH. Or maybe give Chapman a shot in the OF.
Unfortunately, he’s off right now. Sometimes a few games off can work miracles. The way Dreiling swings the bat, I just don’t see Tony not using him.
