So, remember when a bunch of people here wanted Gregg Williams to come back and be the head coach?...

Haha... Classic example of be careful what you wish for.

The Rams should look on the bright side. At least Chuck Cecil can serve as the replacement for Williams. Oh wait...

Adam Schefter reports that the Titans will most likely franchise Michael Griffin.

The titans will probably at least be looked into regarding all this though; I imagine every team he's been some degree of coach for will be

I agree with you 100%. And the Titans under Fisher didn't have a sterling reputation either. I've wondered if Williams got this from Fisher who got it from Buddy Ryan, etc.

they're going to look at buffalo too, reputation won't have so much to do with it as will how active a role he had there coaching

Williams worked for the Oilers while Buddy Ryan was there (in fact worked under Ryan)

why would it have to have come from fisher?

I don't think Fisher participates actively in this crap. Just like I don't think Payton participated in it. But, that doesn't mean that both didn't know it was going on and choose to look the other way. I just don't see this ever coming from Fisher, but of course, I could be wrong.

Really, I was referring to coaching trees and tactics and techniques that are carried on/continued down the line, not just Fisher. That's why I mentioned Ryan, too.

Jim Wyatt and Terry McCormick report that the Titans and Babs are very close to a deal, but he cannot sign until Match 13.

With the signing of Babs and franchising of Griffin, I expect the Titans will either draft the best defensive player available or best pass rusher.

Let's see how loyal all of those so called Colts fans are now lol

Stanford, though not as large, has a pretty substantial following. Maybe Stanford fans will replace the ship jumpers. :birgits_giggle:

Regardless, some other team is about to get a big bump in its following.

Call me crazy but I just have a good feeling about us going hard after Mario Williams, I think it happens.

Adam Schefter says the Titans might make a run at Mario Williams.

Do it, Webster. Do it. Do it.

This 1000x forget this Manning crap. This is who I want us to spend money on. Plus he said pass rush guys are one position he'd over spend for. He also has worked with organizations that went out and got high end pass rush guys;

Tampa signed Rice
Seattle signed Patrick Kerney

He also worked under Atlanta's old GM who traded a 1st round pick for John Abraham. Maybe Mario will be his big get, plus people say he might be more aggressive as well. This is shaping up to be the perfect storm for us and Super Mario.

(Double post from Football forum thread)

And here. We. Go...

@michaelombardi: NFL sources tell me that the Titans are preparing for a Peyton Manning visit in the next day or two

FTR, I still don't think PM ends up with the Titans. However, on Saturday I would've said there was zero chance, but today I'm beginning to believe it's possible.

Never thought I'd say that.

Actually I think it happens (sadly), as I said in the other topic, why is he dragging this out? If Denver is the only real AFC team left why not sign tomorrow and help get his buddies signed? Truth be told I believe we were in contact as soon as he was released and he used the Arizona/Denver visits to set his market price for the Titans.
