The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Some people listen to my scouting reports. Some people despise me lol.

In regards to Titans fans knowing what's good for them: I wouldn't put much stock in their opinions . They were screaming and booing with the Chris Johnson pick out of ECU. I tried to tell many people that was a good pick watch and see. I was correct.

WITH THAT SAID, this Will Levi's pick is their worst pick in franchise history.
Guy is no leader. He's not particularly natural out there either. He is a turnover waiting to happen.

My day 2 wish list:

Dawand Jones or Jaelyn Duncan OT
Andrew Vorhees or Chandler Zavala G
Luke Wypler or Oluwatimi C
Antonio Johnson S
Ringo, Jaylon Jones, or Clark Phillips at CB
AT Perry WR
Andre Carter DE (Needs time in the weight room, but has the movement and frame to replace Autry down the line)

Even if you did all this scouting you claim to do (highlight film isn't "scouting") you still wouldn't be able to state these things with the confidence you do. Because even the best of scouts are often wrong. Get over yourself.

Because it was dumb. We needed/still need a WR.

Instead we traded up and drafted a QB that was overvalued and no one else wanted, then drafted a RB with no knees and you’re surprised fans are mad?

He was overvalued....at 2. Not at 33.

I am willing to bet the guys who are most mad at this pretty much just watch the Titans and are bigger fans of CFB. Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert....all much better QB's at the pro level because their physical tools are much more useful at this level. You used a 2nd rd pick to get a guy who can spin it as well as anybody.

There is so much more that goes into being a good QB, but WL has the only things you can't learn.

I might look dumb but not as dumb as the titans. If he wasn’t overvalued he would’ve been drafted sooner.

Not how that works. Plenty of players slip. A lot of the league doesn’t need a QB or have higher priority needs. This ignorant argument you’re trying to make (he fell because no one wanted him) could be made for any player in the 2nd round and later and yet we saw a ton of teams moving up in the second for the guy they “wanted”.

Its not he went second round hes bad, its ive watched him play multiple times hes bad. He doesnt process fast enough at all and his decision making is terrible.

He had a 90.6 overall pff grade in 2021, in 2022 his adjusted completion % (removing drops) was 75.6%, and he processes fine. His average time to throw was 2.58s compared to Bryce Young at 3.02s and CJ Stroud at 2.92s

Sure sure. And the Titans we be drafting another QB in a few years, same as Locker and Mettenberger.

The problem for me is that - at his best - he projects to be Ryan Tannehill. You already have that guy (and saw the limitations of that guy in the playoffs).

I think Levis can and will be solid, especially if they commit to letting him play a ton as soon as possible. But they should have just stayed put and drafted a QB early next year.

Sorry but RT does not have near the mobility as Levis, especially not at the age he is now.

I actually think the RB pick is much more of a head scratcher than Levis. How long is a RB with no ACL going to be able to play?

Tannehill on a rookie contract is someone you can win a Super Bowl with.

You simple can’t say that with any level of confidence. Numerous pro scouts including our own, PFF, etc all disagree with you
Yes I can, with all the confidence in my body. Every year these idiots hype up multiple players who end up being garbage. Just in recent memory, Zach Wilson, Baker Mayfield, Mac Jones, Jameis Winston, Sam Darnold.

Jake Locker. Kendall Wright. Corey Davis. Isaiah Wilson (actually the worst pick in franchise history).

I’d say even Vince Young but some might argue.

Wilson is one of the worst first round picks in the entire history of the league. Maybe the absolute worst. How many first rounders played fewer than 4 snaps in their careers?

There's pretty much a 50/50 or worse bust rate for 1st round QBs. We will say Levis is essentially a 1. I'd bet the absolute house on him being a bust. He's bad Carson Wentz with the exact same personality issues. No I'm not a scout but once again the pro scouts and GMs get it right like 40% of the time. We will see in a few years. You guys can @ me then.

I like the OL but he's a guard. You got a guard, a bust QB, and a RB with no knees in your 1st draft. I think the Ran regime will be short-lived.

Drafting Carson Wentz with a 2nd would be a success. Eagles got 35 wins out of him and then traded him for a 1st.

I’d love it if he’s Carson Wentz level. Paying him a second round contract means we have enough free cap to build a super bowl level team around him like Wentz in 2017

Key part "bad" Carson Wentz. Not pre 2020 Wentz. Which still might be generous. Levis may be more Trubisky.

He was always bad Carson, he just wasn't that bad. He was good enough that it took teams 4 years to figure out how to take away what he likes to do and render him useless.
