The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

I do too, just don't understand drafting him, you could sign him as a free agent. Missed a chance to double dip.

There’s 31 other teams who could him as a free agent too. That’s what the seventh round is about. Getting the free agent guys you like most and making sure they end up with you

Yeah, I really hated getting the best offensive linemen according to basically all scouts, a QB with a first round grade in the second, a RB scouts loved, and massive athletes at both WR and TE. Clearly an epic fail

A guard that would likely been available in the 2nd rd.

A very questionable QB with some issues.

A RB with serious knee injury issues.

Another lineman that gave up 7 sacks and numerous QB hits.

I'll give you the TE a solid pick in the late rds.

A 7th rd WR that will be a practice squad player either in Nashville or after he's released for another team.

I gave them the D+ because of the 1st rd. OG & TE.

The Titans have had serious problems at the receiving spot for several years and they made it worse trading AJ Brown during last years draft. They drafted Burks & Phillips. Burks did very little but he's the #1 guy. Phillips stayed injured all year. They brought in Robert Woods in FA and he did very little and is now gone. They needed a 1st or 2nd rd Reciever to pair with Burks and they didn't do it.

Titans won the first round with Skoronski. I’ve wanted him since the first mocks started coming out. No shot he dropped to second round or even second half of round 1

But as noted countless times in this thread. day 2 soured the entire draft. To top it off we draft TE and WR on Day 3 when the core of WR and TE immediate starters were still plentiful on day 2. But I’m not shocked titans want to roll into the season opener starting a 7th rounder opposite of Burks. New GM but same ole Titans.

There was no way Skoronski being there in the second round.

Skoronski would’ve never been available in the second round. Wtf are you talking about?

Im sorry but trying to inflate stats vs the actual stat line is why they idiots look stupid when players they overrate drop and players they underrate rise…. Not one time did I say anything about him being an adjusted inaccurate passer. I said he is inaccurate and inefficient with the football. His stat line shows that. Trying to come up with a formula to say a sh!t sandwich really isn’t that sh!tty is dumb. Not saying you are, I’m talking about PFF. At the end of the day, stick to finite stats. He’s career 65% and turnover prone… but hey, glad we get a QB while ignoring the protection and provision positions a QB needs.

Levis was a good pick with the spot we got him in but the guy was turnover prone in college. I'm also underwhelmed by the lack of weapons acquired and the number of picks overall for a team with talent issues.

I would give Atlanta a B for their draft and give Tennessee a C.

What would the board give the Titans for their draft grade?

F-

You can’t draft an interception machine (as I’ve stated before, Jake Locker 2.0) to go along with your 2 other interception prone QB’s and it be anything else.

I liked the Skoronski, Whyle and Dowell picks. The few times I saw Dowell I was impressed with him, so I hope his game is able to translate going from the FCS to the NFL relatively quickly because we’re going to need all the help we can get at WR

I liked us taking Spears, I just didn’t like passing up on the opportunity to get a high value WR to do it. Either way he’s a solid addition to the backfield

I didn’t like the choice to draft Levis (For multiple reasons, one of which being the same complaint I had with us taking Spears where we did), but he has all the physical traits, so maybe with the right coaching and enough time to learn he’ll end up doing well. He’s a Titan now so I’ll be rooting for him regardless

I don’t know enough about Duncan to comment on that decision. I do like us taking multiple offensive linemen though. So depending on if he was worth the pick or not I would go with C+ or B-

So, now that the draft is over here's my knee jerk reaction.

Liked the first round pick.

Liked the value of the second pick even though I don't like the player. But we gave up capital we need next year, value negated. Don't think Levis amounts to much.

Not sure what to make of the third pick, please just don't get hurt........ We really need picks to pan out.

Liked the fifth pick, wanted a big body at TE. Hopefully he can block and be a little better matchup against bigger defenders in the run game.

Depth at tackle with the 6th isn't bad but I thought there were some receivers who could contribute.

Like the player in the 7th but wonder why we needed to burn a pick for him, he was a free agent waiting to happen. If they really think he can contribute the upside is we have him signed once contract is worked.

Next year is going to be brutal, we need every one of the these picks to pan.

This is true, but I'm not sure he's gotten much exposure. Solid stats in lower level competition, I really hope he pans out for us, we really need him to.
