Here's the thing, you don't know that it is. We could have the next great QB in Levis and hire the next great upcoming coach and be just fine. We could sign Tee Higgins and draft Brock Bowers and sign a OL or 2 and look completely different. Just let it play out.Just getting a kick out of how this franchise is crumbling apart just like I knew it eventually would. Also heard the GM press conference was a total disaster. Remember this is what our state wasted 2billion dollars on.

We got plenty our of our 6th and 7th rounder...... I'm not sure what more you could want.
According to DD on 3HL Vrabel could veto any trade based on his contract. Any trade would have to go through league approval. Do you let Vrabel/team your trading him to drag the trade out for 2 or 3 weeks while these other 4 or 5 teams looking for Head Coaches get first crack at the top candidates?Still don’t see why we are in such a hurry that we couldn’t trade.
Actually they just escaped the loop if you look at it objectively. This is all very reminiscent of the Jeff Fisher (Mike Vrabel), Vince Young (Will Levis) and Bud Adams (Amy Skrunk) drama. It's like this team is trapped in a loop, where names change, but the inside drama stays the same.
Exactly. Too many egos and games to play in a short period of time to gain one draft pick. They did exactly what they should have done in that circumstance.According to DD on 3HL Vrabel could veto any trade based on his contract. Any trade would have to go through league approval. After the press conference today with the GM that the NFL forced them to hire, I have doubts this org is going to get their 1st, 2nd 3rd,,,,, or even 6th choice for head coach.Actually they just escaped the loop if you look at it objectively.
This is not a one year turnaround to become a marginal playoff team situation anymore. The goal has been openly stated to win a SB. Vrabel and J-Rob proved they could not do that, so they are gone. The table is set with plenty of cap room to build a better org/team using a new template that is being used successfully around the league.
You can tell by the look and body language, he didn't want to make this call.

It's OK to doubt it. I have been right there with you based on org history. That's why I walked away as a fan with the new OC promotion, the draft and FA signings I saw, which were in line with how dumb things were done so often in the past. I just see a major shift and commitment this time. I have no idea how Ran will do in the future. I know he conducted a good draft overall and had to deal with Vrabel's demands. They apparently got crossways. Vrabs is an industry respected, powerful guy in the org who wanted things done his way. He apparently forgot that had produced crap results the past two seasons including huge numbers of injured players, an incompetent DUI OC, another incompetent OC replacement, a continuing incompetent O-line, etc. Who knows, maybe he pushed it so he would be released.
If Levis is their QB of the future, they have to rebuild the O-line to protect him and develop a complimentary run game to see if he is. If Levis turns out not to be the guy, they still need to do it so the next guy has a good shot. Levis would never be my choice to do that, but apparently he is Ran's. The news about Skoronski moving to where he should have been all along reveals a lot. The run game cannot be heavy ground and pound because it cannot be locked in on play action all of the time. They cannot secure the O-line to do that and DH is at the end of his career. He is unigue, no replacement of his type available. So, continue to do this right and make the change with the roster on O-scheme. Give it all a strong chance of working better than what has been trotted out there.
The controlling owner chose to go the opposite direction. I think that is a major paradigm shift. I believe when Ran was hired she was prepared for this day to happen down the road. The quick decision tells me it was planned and they know who they want as HC. It will be somebody they both trust to change the trajectory toward the goal of a SB. Ran has more respect and goodwill in the industry than people are giving him credit for having.
The easy thing would have been to sit tight with Vrabs, add a few players and staff, put a bandaid on it and soak the fanbase willing to pay for tickets and gear. Basically that is what they did for the past two years. Amy wants more. I like it.
