The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Lol I’m enjoying the ignorance of “he didn’t just at the first job available! Clearly no one wants him”

Didn’t he interview for multiple head coaching jobs? Unless I’m missing something, it seems pretty clear that he did want a head coaching job this cycle and that he was passed over for them all. For a guy who many Titans fans said something to the effect of “he will have a head coaching job in no time”, it’s pretty telling that front offices for multiple organizations said “no thanks”.

He will get another chance eventually, but he’s going to end up back in a coordinator role first. The idea that he would be a head coach again without having to work his way back up was unrealistic.

Have you only interviewed for jobs you accepted? You seem to falsely be assuming “interviewed for” meant “he wanted that job”. I’ve left plenty of interviews and then declined a second interview or a job offer.

I’ve never interviewed for a job I wasn’t willing to take if my number one preference didn’t work out. I question the judgment of anyone who interviews for a job they weren’t willing to take if their top preference didn’t work out. Obviously our views are considerably different if you’d waste your time interviewing for a job you wouldn’t take if you didn’t have other options.

More power to you if you’re financially secure enough that you can go a year unemployed because you didn’t get your number one preference (although I seriously question your judgment if you’ve wasted time preparing for interviews for jobs you had no intention of accepting under any circumstances). Can’t say I’ve ever been in a financial situation like that.

I interviewed for jobs to find out about those jobs. You may have had to worry about taking a lesser job if what you wanted wasn’t available, he doesn’t have to.

You’re making a lot of absurd assumptions here in order to try and push your “no one wanted him” nonsense.

You’re making absurd assumptions that he didn’t want those jobs. See how that works? Both are assumptions. I have a hard time envisioning that he didn’t want any of the multiple jobs he interviewed for, but that’s just me.

Quote where I made that assumption you’re accusing me of. I’ll wait….

“ You seem to falsely be assuming “interviewed for” meant “he wanted that job”. You’ve implied you believe he interviewed for jobs he didn’t want, and that’s fine. Just don’t play dumb when it’s apparent what your implication was.

It’s not worth arguing over. Time will reveal that he’s not the hot commodity some believed he was. Until then, good evening to you.

Lmfao at the level of ignorance. No one is talking about my personal wealth. We are talking about a coach who’s made millions a year for multiple years and who made similar money as a player prior.

Yes, he can afford a year off.

And no one said he had no intention of accepting these jobs under any circumstances.

What I am saying is that it’s common for experienced coaches to interview for jobs and talk to everyone involved to see if their vision is aligned and a guy not taking an offer, doesn’t mean he doesn’t have an offer. Tennessee football for example has interviewed plenty of coaches who later declined.

So I didn’t say that? Instead I called you out for your assumptions? Which due to your lack of reading comprehension, you believe “implies” that I assumed the opposite?

lmfao do better

As I’ve said it’s not worth arguing over. You think I have an ignorant view of the subject. I think you have an ignorant view of the subject. We’re square. If you’re willing to keep hurling insults over a differing view point, then you’re revealing a lot about yourself.

Yes, your view that people who’ve made millions for a decade or more wouldnt take a year off and wait for the right job is ignorant.

Your claim the me calling you out for making false assumptions implies I’m making assumptions is also ignorant.

We are definitely going to be contenders for the Nepotism Bowl with these hires.

Lol wtf. He just brought in one of the hottest names for DC candidates, a WR coach with an extensive history of success, and one of the top 3 O-line coaches in the game who happens to be his dad. But go off.

I believe he interviewed for 2. ATL and CAR.

I don’t know any more than anyone else, but perhaps his asking price was too high. I certainly believe he could be overvaluing himself in the market. Sounds like he was SD’s #2 to Harbaugh.

Harbaugh will do well with Herbert. Think he will have them winning soon.

Vrabel will get another shot at being a head coach. I don’t doubt that. Most former head coaches who had any success do get that second chance. Raheem Morris is a good example and Vrabel was leaps and bounds more successful than Morris as a head coach.

It’s not all his fault, but at the end of the day, Vrabel is a coach who has lost 18 of his last 24 games. That’s a tough sell right now in the immediate aftermath of the season. Perhaps in a year’s time that changes and he is able to land whatever HC opening he wants. I don’t see him being able to be too picky, but time will tell.

I'm really liking the staff..........a lot!
Same here. It's as if that Adams gal might have lucked up and hired good people. /s

Hiring Ran, firing Vrabel, and hiring Brian were all master strokes of somebody who knew what they needed to do. Ran and Brian are highly respected in the business and it is showing by the assistants who are jumping on board who have other options.

I turned my Titans fan light back on. I don't do woe-is-me fanhood well anymore. Been a Vol fan too long and that has been enough suffering to last me until Heup came on the scene.

CBC is sending the elevator down to pick up his group of coaches from relationships with other quality coaches he developed through the years. That's the way a winner does it.
