Fake news. I was told on here that the fact he didn’t take a job immediately after being fired last season was proof no one wanted him
Lol what? I recall several on here convincing themselves he'd be hired within 15 minutes if we let him go. The fact it happened a year later isn't some "gotcha", he was always gonna get another shot somewhere. Never mind the fact that it's New England of all places where he is still highly regarded and has a good relationship with the owner.
That said, I am legitimately happy for him, and I'll be curious to see how he does in Foxboro. He needs to do absolutely everything he can to get the most out of Drake Maye. Competing for that division against Josh Allen is gonna be a lot different than the heyday of the Belichick era where they could sleepwalk into a 1st round bye.
Part of me sincerely hopes that he learned from his time here and doesn't simply hire a bunch of buddies and yes men.
There’s very few nfl jobs. No matter how great a coach is, they’ll likely sit at least a season if they’re looking for an NFL job.
Regardless it was dumb for some on here (I bumped a post yesterday) to claim it was proof that no one wanted him
So you are fine with great stats and then folding in the playoffs? Dak needs a strong run game and great weapons in order to succeed. He cannot carry the team when it needs him to. He cannot raise his game when the stakes are highest. You would want that plus his $60mil salary?Hopefully it includes Prescott

I'm not a huge fan of Dak but he could do better someplace like Nashville where there isn't nearly as much pressure and spotlight. That being said I would not want to take on his contract. So you are fine with great stats and then folding in the playoffs? Dak needs a strong run game and great weapons in order to succeed. People said the same stuff about Stafford. Gets in the right spot with the right HC/staff and wins at high levels. Said the same stuff about Goff. Gets in the right spot with the right HC/staff and wins at high levels. Saying the save stuff about Baker, etc. etc. Titans fans only have to look at what happened with Tannehill and the success he brought for a few years in the right system and roster for him.His postseason stats are really good. The “player/coach x can’t win the big game” is one of the dumbest arguments out there.
Salaries are negotiable. We don’t have to take all of it, but we have plenty of cap room if needed
The stat that matters is his record against good teams and in the playoffs. Maybe it is coaching to a degree, but I just don't believe he has what it takes to take a team to the super bowl. His first season ( granted he was a rookie) he had the best o-line, top 5 WR group and the best RB in football at the time. And when it mattered, he didn't have it. Same story year after year. Even with really good players around him, he did not win in the playoffs. Out of 32 starting QB in the NFL, I would rank him around 12-15.His postseason stats are really good. The “player/coach x can’t win the big game” is one of the dumbest arguments out there.

Best qb since McNair, but not best we've seen in 3-4 decades1. The Cowboys would never make that trade due to the cap ramifications. But if they did, we wouldn't owe him 60/year.
2. Peyton had the choke label until he didn't. The Cowboys as a whole are a mess and have been since the mid 90s. It's unfair to put it all on him. He's also balled out in a few playoff games but the defense let him down.
3. Dak would instantly be the best QB we've ever seen.

I am going to take Steve over Dak.I love McNair. But he really only only had about 3 year stretch of upper tier play. He was bad early in his career and there was a lot of chatter about the Titans moving on from him before that SB run in 1999.
Warren Moon was pretty terrific too, but I was meaning more the best QB the Tennessee Titans have ever seen.

They got a history of being a bunch of knuckleheadsMcNair made the Super Bowl....
McNair won a share of MVP, which is absurd by the way.....
Dak would arguably be the most talented QB the Titans could have in some time, but there is nothing on resumê in the league to say he would be the best QB the Titans would have on the roster "we have ever seen"
For the record, i think the Titans would be idiots to not reach out to Dallas if they ultimately sign Deion to see what they could do in a trade.
