The Official Tennessee vs Charlotte Regional Game Thread Friday 6PM EST ESPNU

I found a quaint little bed and breakfast, just on the outskirts of Clemson, for a very affordable rate.

So many great options to choose from

I need a roll call... Who's all going? Would anyone want to tailgate before the game?
Cmon folks. Let’s go!! I’m getting 6-8 more premium tickets in the next hour. These are either behind home plate or just up 1B line. $35 each. Trying to rally the troops to get more BaseVol supporters In Clemson on Fri night. I‘ve been talking to Clemson season ticket holders all day procuring great seats. They are nice folks (at least until we beat them). GBO!

The Town of Pendleton is close to campus, and is located along the way from I-85 to Clemson. It’s a little historical town with some good places to eat and watering holes on the square. I think it’s better than Clemson, as it’s off the campus and you don’t have to put up with crazy parking, etc. Anderson is the closest city to campus, and it’s located on the side of 85 opposite from Clemson. Plenty of hotels and restaurants there.
I will be pulling for the Basevols loudly from my son’s baseball tournament. I wish I could be there, as I loathe the fans and would love for the Vols to get the trifecta against Clemson this year

We could have a great time Friday evening.

Feels like mom & dad are going out of town for the weekend, so we having a big drinking party over at clemson.

Only a three hour drive. We can set up tents on their football field and do a Bonnaroo type thing.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I'm dead serious... Let's go. I'll do a tailgate if enough people would be down to meet around 3pm in the parking lot.

I can't remember how this works for NCAA baseball.

Will there be three "sessions"?

Both games on Friday are Session 1.
Saturday is Session 2.
Sunday is Session 3?

Seems like an unusually big gap between the game times, but my memory isn't great.

Thanks for the info. Any recommendations for restaurants close to campus? Esso?

Game 1 is 1pm (Clemson Vs Lipscomb). Game 2 of course is UT vs Charlotte at 6pm. 2 separate tickets are required.

Shows you how the world has changed...

Today, the old house would be a prime B&B destination.
What was once the motel would now be a mini strip mall, renting space to a vape store, nail boutique, CPA's office, beer cave, CBD emporium, and a little taxidermy showroom on the far end, oddly called "Stuff That Rocks."

Yes two separate tickets and I'll be happy to tailgate from 3-5:30 if anyone wants to.

Thanks for the info. Any recommendations for restaurants close to campus? Esso?
Esso is good. They have a good meat & 3 around lunchtime. It’s the big watering hole for the locals right across the road from campus.
Sardi’s Den is on Highway 93 probably 1-2 miles from campus. They have ribs and other stuff. Cozy local place.
College Avenue has most of your standard restaurants and it’s close to campus. Bars and Mom & Pop places, some chains.
There’s a Raisin’ Canes actually on campus, behind Tillman Hall, which is the building with the big bell tower. It’s within walking distance from the baseball stadium.
Like someone posted earlier, the Student Union has an ice cream place (‘55 Exchange?) that has good ice creams and sundaes. Clemson is an agricultural school, so they make their own ice cream and bleu cheese. I’m not a fan of bleu cheese, but they’re sorta famous for that, as they cure it in an old tunnel in the mountains. You can buy it there and take it home if so desired.
The stadium is tucked down behind the athletic center right across from the football stadium. Last time I went there, the food options sucked, but they may have improved since.
There’s a restaurant in the golf course (Madren Center) on campus. They have a variety of food, but it’s a bit pricey. It’s also close to the baseball stadium.
For BBQ, I recommend Smokin’ Pig, which is on Highway 76 on the way to campus coming from I-85. Glazed ribs and brisket are their specialties.
There’s a place near there called Ruffage, and they have a good breakfast and brunch. Locally-sourced stuff.
If you stay in Anderson, I recommend Sullivan’s downtown on Main St. for a bit of upscale dining. They have won a ton of awards and their desserts are worth the drive.
If you’re looking for pizza, there’s a place on Highway 76 between 85 and campus, right across from the Michelin plant. It’s called Guy’s Pizza. Little place that does takeout, but they stay packed because their stuff is really good.
If you have specific things you’re looking for, let me know and I will help you out.

Looks like I just got scammed out of Friday night tickets, found a guy on the college baseball subreddit who was selling me 2 for 35, said he’d send them over as soon as I paid, then said he’d send them after he finished driving. Now it’s been 5 hours and he hasn’t responded. I guess this gives me a reason to hate the burnt orange team

That’s an awesome response. Really appreciate it as you’ve given me lots of options. I’m solo on Friday and the fam is joining me on Sat so will choose accordingly. Thanks so much!

I pray you all have safe travels and enjoy your time here. If I can’t live in the mountains of East Tennessee, this is a pretty good place to live.

Seriously that stinks. Sorry it happened to you but maybe he will come through. Oh…If there only was a long-time trustworthy poster who was procuring excellent seats at his cost on this very site. 🍊😀👊👍😃🍊

Since the family is joining me on Sat, would you recommend staying in downtown Greenville? I’ve been there but they haven‘t and assume they would appreciate that neat downtown area. If it was just me, I’d just stay in Clemson close to campus and the baseball stadium but is there enough to keep wife and teenagers entertained in Clemson?
