The Official Thread of the 76th NFL Draft (2011)

If I were a Titans fan, I'd rather have picked up Ponder after the first.

I assume they've all done alot more research on the topic than I (or most fans) have, especially since it's their job

And if not and they screwed up, well their a$$es will get fired within the next 2 years or so

Yes I do. Newton may be (is) a criminal, but from an unbiased view I think he will do better than you predict. We'll see if they re-tool with their remaining picks.

Oh, and Britt is one deep ball from tearing his other hammy, so I wouldn't count too much on him.

About 99% of NFL personnel guys would take Britt over Smith had he not recently been arrested. I'd much rather count on him than Brandon LaFell...

Tom Brady is one hit from messing up his shoulder.

Peyton Manning is one bad step from messing up his knee.

(Insert NFL player here) is one play away from ending his career.

Nevermind. I thought you were saying you wanted Julio. The trade Cleveland made would have been great for the Titans.

Oh haha. The Browns got a lot for their 1st. Would have been nice to get as much in return.

Jacksonville selects Gabbo:

Interesting.

Titans take Locker over Gabbert.

Jags trade up for Gabbert.

Should make for an interesting division rivalry.

He didn't play in a gimmick offense. Every other passing play was some sort of gimmick. Newton was constantly kneeling forward and then dropping back or flipping it out to wr's and running reverses where he gets the ball back. Their offense was all sorts of f***ed up. Plus, a lot of the crucial plays he scrambled for it. He's no faster than NFL linebackers and her certainly isn't going to be running them over.

I've just never been sold on Newton. I think VY was a better faster and is quicker. All Newton has on him is strength. I just don't see it but best of luck to the Panthers. If it works out for em, great. I feel like the Titans have already gone down that road and VY was even less of a headcase imo.

All of those concerns are legitimate and I definitely agree with you on some of those, but arguing he's more of a headcase than Young is a little much, IMO. Regardless, I wish Locker well, because I really respect the Titans organization.

Wouldn't have minded Fairley, but I'm glad we've got a quarterback. Welcome to Tennessee, Jake Locker. Great player on a bad team. Great work ethic.

Locker will win over fans quickly. Only Minnesota is sad to see him land in Music City. Jake was the projected number one in 2010, but wanted to take his team to a bowl game and get his degree. I think he's the Titans week one starter.

Ditto. I loved the Panthers when I was a little kid. Collins, Muhammad, Bates. I ended up liking Collins so much I cheered for the Saints and Giants. Not so much the Raiders. I was happy when he ended up a Titan because I had already permanently become a Titans fan. My second teams were actually the Giants(Collins) and Saints(Brooks). I just was never a fan of Newton. Like I said, if it works out for them, I'm happy for em. No ill will.
