The Official Zone Severe Weather Thread

I completely understand that, but I see the other side as well, especially if it was family. I'd be trying, despite what the feds said, but that's just how I'm wired. But I do get there's more to it
But that’s exactly what I said! When I’m clinging to the roofline, and Poots and the Taliban drop me a line, I’m all for it. When I want to see as many people saved as possible, it’s different.

Abermarle operates a lithium mine just west of Charlotte. Just like with every single Fortune 1000 company in America, Blackrock owns shares of Abermarle for their index funds.

While there was some damage in that area of NC, it pales in comparison to the damage 90 miles to the West.

The thesis is the govt seeded the clouds, pushed the storm further east so Abermarle can buy up land and Blackrock is behind it. Some issues with this. First, they didnt push it far enough to the east. Second, Abermarle is struggling because lithium price has plummeted. They are already delaying restarting the mine because prices are too low. Why would they make those investments to buy land when they cant make money at current prices....
Good God. People are watching way too many movies.

Old joke: how they gonna make money selling at less than cost? Volume

The water companies should all pitch in and buy a lithium mine. They could add lithium to the water supply so... we'll, you can guess the rest. :)

This is by far the weirdest path I have ever seen for possible Hurricaine. Is there any record of one taking apath like this? It's just weird.

@Behr ,hooe it dues diwn and doesn't hurt you, your dad, or community
Hooe it dues diwn too. Thanks. Actually it can't do much damage to my dads house. He just threw everything away and tore out all the cabinets and drywall from the last one. He went back to Tennessee and said he wasn't doing anything until after hurricane season, and might not then.

TAMPA, Fla. – Less than two weeks after Hurricane Helene struck Florida’s Big Bend, Milton is threatening to do the same, but given the state’s distinctive coastline, the angle of landfall could allow the new storm system to be the worst in over 100 years for parts of west-central Florida.

"The West Coast of Florida is spectacularly vulnerable to storm surge, as we have seen. Even a tropical storm can push Gulf water to dangerous heights, let alone a strong hurricane. It's critical that everybody in Central and South Florida stay well-informed since things are developing quickly," said FOX Weather H

There's no evacuation for where we have rented, so we're goung. Heavy rain, atrong wind fir Wednesday. We'll probably soend the day/night with them Wednesday, instead of at the beach ((in case of flooding).

Trying not to tin foil...but yeah.....it does seem weird path wise. In any case hoping Tampa and other already effected ares don't get it worse.

It is a unique path for an expected large storm.

Nothing big has formed in this area and moved towards Tampa/SW FL in a long time. A few have developed but they got sheared to make them only tropical storm strength when they hit FL.The weather models have been hinting at this area for a while.

Milton formed in a common area for them to form in late Sep/early October. Typically, those either move onshore to MX or go more poleward (Michael/Helene)

There are examples of poweful storms that form a little further southeast in the Carribbean that will move poleward then recurve towards FL.

The atmospheric and oceanic temperature changes are resulting in the old patterns no longer predicting the new realities. The new ocean currents and prevailing winds are throwing a wrench into the usual models.
