Thanks, but have no worries about me, I'll be fine. I'm skirt of the impact it's capable of having to this area. It hadn't fully recovered from Ian. It changes with every one and it takes time to adjust. That probably doesn't make sense, but I liked it better here befor Charley in 04. This one at a 4 could really be devastating. Especially so soon after last week.Stay safe, and please touch base when you can. I know you don’t like being fussed over, but we do tend to fret.
Scary when the soil is already saturated, and then the hurricane hits. We definitely saw this up here (8+” of rain from the stalled cold front, and then came the hurricane winds)Thanks, but have no worries about me, I'll be fine. Nehr is definitely a worrisome guy.Tiffany got oyr money back, not going now. While ours is just a pleasure trip, it doesn't bother me (I'll miss seeing the oldest), we can visit later. I worry about Nehr, and my family down there. On a lifhter note, taking my buddy up on the free stay in outer banks. We were already packed, I texted him, and we're headed over in the morning.

You don't have a generator?Hate you had to cancel your trip to see your daughter.
Thanks for the thoughts, but rest assured, I don't play around with these Hurricanes anymore and I'll stay safe. My biggest worry (for myself) is losing power and water. (Inconveniences).
Yes, I have 2. It's so convenient I've been thinking about disconnecting my electricity permanently and just using my generators as my main source of electricity. I can also use rain water for showers and just go to the bathroom outside. Who needs plumbing. You don't have a generator?
I know that was one of the first things my grandparents did when they moved down there.
Actually, we’re (I’m) looking at generators and inverters, so any time you feel like typing all that out again, you’ve got one reader, anyway.Lulz. I explained about having generators to plug in my refrigerator to save my 40 pounds of fish, and 15 gallons of gas, gas for the grill, cash, plenty of both kinds of water. Blah blah blah, but deleted it because I didn't want to bore anyone with all that.
When I bought them I wasnt in the market for generators but they were priced to good to pass up. I sold the one I had and felt like I'd just won the lottery. And, I have never really researched the propane generators don't know much about them. I'm good with what I've got.Actually, we’re (I’m) looking at generators and inverters, so any time you feel like typing all that out again, you’ve got one reader, anyway.
Interesting that you have two, because I was thinking about doing the same. One for stuff we absolutely need to keep running (fridge, freezer, and some lamps and chargers) and a second for maybe-we-need stuff like the a/c-heat splits upstairs and the sump pump; also as a backup to the first.
And why did you go with gasoline instead of propane?
You have natural gas, yes? You should investigate natural gas generators. Generac, Cummins, Kohler are some brands. There are a number of comparative reviews online. You can look for a portable unit using whatever fuel is available for immediate use, and consider investing in a natural gas unit for future use, limited circuit or whole house. There will be opportunities to sell/donate/gift your portable after the natural gas unit is installed.Actually, we’re (I’m) looking at generators and inverters, so any time you feel like typing all that out again, you’ve got one reader, anyway.

Some of these weather guys, well 2 to be exact, are saying the difference in the storm from the 5am update to the 11am update suggests this storm is already a cat 5 by now and they've never seen one intense as deep and as quickly as this one.
I agree, although Hubs won’t. This is the first time we’ve gone without power for much over 12 hours, when we just didn’t open the fridge and freezer doors. An installed generator falls into the category of “Let the next owner do that.”You have natural gas, yes? You should investigate natural gas generators. Generac, Cummins, Kohler are some brands.
