Lulz. I explained about having generators to plug in my refrigerator to save my 40 pounds of fish, and 15 gallons of gas, gas for the grill, cash, plenty of both kinds of water. Blah blah blah, but deleted it because I didn't want to bore anyone with all that.
What we did after going 6 days with outpower two years ago is install a generator inlet box and a interlock switch. Total cost to install myself was about 150 bucks. Tohavean electrician in Florida estimates were 700-1000 dollars. I can run the whole house including AC. Well dryer, stove, and AC bog it down. We use propane and get 3 days on a tank of propane running it only a night. We have the one thatwill run on propane, NG, or gas. We chose to primarily run on propane because it doesn't go bad and doesn't mess with the carb. Then we will get some gasoline just in case a couple days prior to storm. You have natural gas, yes? You should investigate natural gas generators. Generac, Cummins, Kohler are some brands. There are a number of comparative reviews online. You can look for a portable unit using whatever fuel is available for immediate use, and consider investing in a natural gas unit for future use, limited circuit or whole house. There will be opportunities to sell/donate/gift your portable after the natural gas unit is installed.
Thanks, I appreciate it, but I'm not staying because of nowhere to go. I could go to dad's or my brothers, or a friend in Jupiter. I'm good here. You're welcome here.
Are you in an a or b zone in your new house? I wish you the best man, its gonna get ugly I'm afraid.Staying. We built a new house 3 years ago away from water. Prior to that we were right down the street from where Helene storm surge hir Treasure Island beach. Our old neighborhood was under about 5 feet of water.
