If they weren't in their 80's I probably wouldn't mind as much. There is ZERO reason for them to stay though. The rest of family is NY. I'm close enough to where they can come relatively easily.Hope they make the right call man.
My cousin and her hubby in punta gorda evacuated today. Theyre coming up here to mom and dads house i think.

.I thought we needed a new thread to talk about the weather. If we already had one for the Zone, fawk you and who cares!
Looks like the weather may get a little rough for almost all of us tonight. Main threat is damaging straight line winds and large hail, but a small tornado threat is there too.

SPC Day 1 Outlook
Well Charlotte County (they’re close to the border) is mandatory for A and B. Sarasota (technically where they live) is mandatory for A.Yeah but that don't count, they're in D. I'm trying to make you feel better. Lol.
Seriously though, since they want to stay just be glad they're not in A or B. That's something.
And if it looks worse tomorrow maybe they'll change their mind.
God bless her. Thanks, I appreciate it, but I'm not staying because of nowhere to go. I could go to dad's or my brothers, or a friend in Jupiter. I'm good here.
There's some older church people that aren't in the evacuation zone but they will lose power and possibly water. I like to stay close.
BTW @joevol33 Mrs Foster just lost her 4th child yesterday, another daughter. Cancer. She's turning 91 soon. She's lost 3 daughters and a son. I didn't realize she has/had 9 children. I thought she just had the three daughters.
I didn't know cities had different zones. Based on expected damage? Elevation / surge?Yeah but that don't count, they're in D. I'm trying to make you feel better. Lol.

@Behr , the Mayor of Tampa said just a few minutes ago "If you are in an evacuation zone and are just going to try to ride it out, you are going to die". Now that is pretty scary @Behr so I hope that you will be in a safe place...Haven't seen anything from @VolNExile since yesterday afternoon.
It's sad about planning a Wedding too and then this happening.....Well we just tried to go to Brevard for the wedding. We had not heard from family there since yesterday. We made it to Asheville, but were turned around due to flooding. Made it to Hendersonville, but turned around due to trees down. Could not find any open roads to Brevard.
We learned that one was able to make a call this morning, but otherwise they have no power or cell service - I was reading tower damage and they can't get to the towers because of road issues we were having. They are going to still try to do the ceremony if they can get ahold of the officiant, but otherwise wedding is not happening.
We are pivoting and hopefully making it to our next stop to enjoy our long birthday weekend.
I'm in a safe place Miss Vette. I'm 120 miles South of Tampa and I'm well prepared. Will be even more prepared tomorrow. I'll be dug in like a tick.
