The Overwhelmingly Negative Response on This Board

Teams have made serious improvement each year he was there. I like that he is from the Keady coaching tree.

This is an important selling point for me as well. I'll take a guy who walked into a difficult job and built it into a winner on the brink of NCAA appearances.

I'd like more experience. But the experience he has will be valuable with our program as it exists now.

So you like the hire?

I just find it ridiculous that guys like bPV, hat, law, etc get characterized as these enemies of the program and I have to wade through this crap when we hire a good coach

Yeah, Ole Gene was a big time tourney man. Did he ever make a final four? I recall watching his best team with Glen Robinson losing to LSU or Duke at TBA.

Buzz Peterson, part II. When Smart goes to Ga Tech or NC State it will be interesting to track who does a better job. Of course Smart was too smart to listen to UT.

let it out now. sooner you do that, the sooner you make some room in your heart for contrition.

Well, the 3 you mentioned should tell everybody what to think and it would save all this posting activity.

I think that the haters on this board may get to see how it is for a change. Of course, they will have to come out of their caves and way in on the guy like the rest.

Nobody knows how this guy will do but I see nothing more than (I actually gave an opinion) a Buzz Peterson Part II. Maybe he will leave some good recruits for the next coach like Buzz did for Bruce.

the irony is pretty thick.

I was disappointed just in the fact that I had hoped we could land Frank. Once, I stepped back and looked at the positives, this could be a fine hire. He cleaned up a mess in a tough mid-major conference and he has the guts to come here and attempt to clean up our mess.

That's enough for me to back him. Go Vols!

+1
I will support him until proven otherwise. Do not have to like the hire but he is our coach now so let's not make his position harder than it already is (the poop he just stepped into by accepting the job). Good luck Coach Martin!

Bet he would have hated the Vince Lombardi hire had he been a Green Bay fan back then.

When CM becomes Coach Lombardi-like, then you can say, I told you so. But until then everybody is allowed an opinion unless someone decides to call this the lecture instead of discussion board that is how I will continure to operate.

They are entitled to their opinion, and I am entitled to the belief that their opinion is crap
