:lolabove: Coach K could win with you playing, He is a real coach. And Duke did not get him out of a box of cracker jacks:hi::cray:Look at it season by season, and get back to me. You aren't looking at anything in context. Coach K isn't going to win 20 games a year with a bottom tier team with no talent.
I actually like the hire relative to some of the names we were throwing around. I think he'll recruit well and he will not be walked over in practice by players. I don't know enough about game execution to really comment, but his teams appear to play D and with heart. Those two are the ones you can't play without.

Whether this is a bad, good, or great hire only time will tell but the hire went as I said. Someone nobody new. Check my post I new we we're not getting any of the "name" coaches. It is not TN's MO.

My mistake. I thought you were implying Martin was left with a stacked cupboard....which is absolutely wrong. The exact opposite was the case. I apologize.
But Pearl made it possible to hire a guy who could elevate the program. That was the team hatvol mantra.
We could have hired a Cuonzo Martin type anytime. Pearl had to go, but this just shows that those who said there would be no consequences are completely wrong. The consequence" hiring an unknown upstart with a short track record/small sample size.
He may succeed in the SEC. But there is little reason to be confident. Huge step down IMO.
