Pearl came to Knoxville off a Sweet 16 at Milwaukee. This fool rides into town off a losing season in the WAC.

I know I know, I'm not thrilled with the hire either. But I don't think it's "off with his head" time quite yet. Give a broham a chance mang.

Hat, just curious as to which would you rather have? Phil Fulmer still coaching here, or DD. Just trying to get a feel for where you stand on DD, because your distaste for Fulmer is well documented.

That aside, great day for our basketball program. Here's hoping the best is yet to come.

Great summary of the game Hat. Agree with all the points. I think Bruce has become a better coach since Tyler got stupid on us. More control and less chaos, all anyone has ever criticized and since it happened we have been a far better team with a plan for the half court offense. Bruce got a lot out of these guys and all concerned deserve to sit back and take pride (with the one exception) in their play and their class.

Brian Williams has responded very well to screwing up and getting a second chance.

Hopson desperately needs to have his testicles descend, there is an operation for that.

So, what does it say when I truly believe I feel a lot more disappointed right now than I will when we lose to Florida in September?

Heckuva ride and a very tough loss. I really wanted to see a Final Four, but I am still immensely proud to be a Vol today.

Whoa, wait a minute. You think Hopson plays better D???

You notice that Diebler went 1 for 8 with Hopson on him. And Cam is apt to leave his man. The majority of Ohio State's threes were scored by Tatum's man. And he fouled a three point shooter today. Hopson really stepped it up on defense in this tournament. If he'd only match it on offense. . .

Cam just needs to be a little more focused and aggressive on defense and he'll be one of our best players.

He definitely did, but he spaced out twice on Summers today. He wasn't in the game like the others were by any stretch. And I'm not one to usually crucify Hopson.

I am actually starting to believe that he has trouble with the pressure, and it manifests by appearing to be lazy. I really think he just gets "lost" in games, sometimes.

I think it means that it's an awesome thing to have a basketball team that we can truly take pride in. That chance hasn't come along very much in UT mens hoops history.

Tatum has his flighty moments. That moronic foul on the breakaway in the first half being a prime example.

true. but at least he gives 100%. mental mistakes are bad... but not hussling and wandering around with your thumb in your mouth is disgusting.

Man, stop with the vitriol. You can't pin this loss on one player. It's a team loss. Hopson just happened to be in the spotlight, but even another free throw wouldn't have won it. They all had their chances, and they were just one point short. Still mighty proud though.

Because beating Florida is even more unlikely than this run... I'd like to see at least one win against UF before I leave UT, but unless it is this year I don't see it happening in my last semester when the game is at UF.

I wonder if he and Cam aren't regular pot smokers. I know a number of people who are with similar lapses of concentration, and I think part of Brian Williams resurgence is directly related to him getting off the ganja.

Or maybe they're just not detail oriented.

The same thought has crossed my mind a number of times.

he won't. he's already pinned it completely on one player

I would have to say that ALMOST all of them gave all out effort. There's one player who I'm hanging this loss on.

Don't brother. Our all SEC guy struggled. He had a huge advantage. Their stud aced him badly.
