The Pembroke Postgame Report.

I have enjoyed reading your postgame report after each game. It is usually the first thing, or at least one of the first, I look for on this board after the game.

Regarding #10, it is good to see you give credit where credit is due. It is not something everyone who has been a critic seems to have the ability to do.

No, I just called you out on 3 months of pearl bashing that solidifies your bullshyte. You can zip it up now genious.

Durn man! He gave Pearl credit. I'm not a big fan of Hat and VolDad's posts but what more do you want? A sacrifice of their firstborn to atone for past posts? Let's all just enjoy the win.

Well no, we'd need for Adidas to become as big a deal shoe and endorsement wise to the NBA as Nike is....and it feels there's a pretty sizable difference

that or we change our university's deal to nike

I kid on the WWW stuff, although I don't blame coach Cal one bit for taking advantage of it. I agree with your post.

Great analysis as usual Hat. Spot on about maze and williams down the stretch. We don't win without both players coming up huge. Also, big of you to credit where its due to for CBP, being a vol fan is more important than personal opinions of coaching...and as long as we are winning everyone will be happy. Agree with you about sunday, no excuses. We are better than both squads.

I get ya. I get ya.

I have always wondered though, anyone know why did UT choose to make its athletic apparel deal with Adidas? I know we've had it since at least the 90s

Hat, great analysis as always. but the 'offering of your sword' to the Pearl camp was groundbreaking.

He's done exactly the things I excoriated him for failing to do. Why wouldn't I give him due credit? That's the difference between me and most of the Pearl camp. I give honest criticism, then credit when problems are rectified. They, on the other hand, blindly follow like a bunch of North Koreans.

1. It wouldn't have been right for this team to make history easily. That was a tremendous NCAA Tournament game.
2. Wayne Chism will play yet another game. That's an outstanding thing.
3. Without Brian Williams, Tennessee doesn't play Sunday. The tip on one end, followed by altering Evan Turner's shot on the other, carried the day.
4. Bobby Maze did exactly what a senior point guard has to do in March. It gets no more clutch than those two free throws.
5. Melvin Goins' pressure of Turner was key to wearing him down. It was like body shots in boxing.
6. Scotty Hopson's flurry after the awful charge call on him was great to see. Most of the night he was the 10th best player on the floor.
7. Taking a 10 second call at the end of a game is inexcusable. It would have been atrocious if that had cost UT a spot in the regional final Sunday.
8. Cam Tatum is finally becoming the player a number of us thought he could be. He kept the Vols breathing in the first half.
9. No excuses for failing to reach Indianapolis now. Tennessee is simply better than either possible Sunday opponent.
10. The fact I think there are a number of coaches who could get Tennessee to an Elite Eight is no longer relevant. The guy coaching here now has and he deserves all the kudos that come with that.

Agreed. Don't stop now.

Way to represent Vols.

It could be worse, doesn't Georgia Tech use Russell Athletic? I guess they can get away with that with their location and all.

I'm not an espn conspiracy theorist, but i just pulled up espn's front page (cst 9:28) and there is not one mention of the vols. that's just wrong. a 6 over a 2 should have at least warranted a mention. Its not like there are a plethora of sports stories breaking right now.

WOW! I am sure Pearl really appreciates your vote of confidence. It took you a trip to the elite 8 to realize this? Most of us figured this out after the first season he was here. It only took you 5 straight tourney appearances, 5 straight 20+ win seasons, 5 straight years of national attention (including a #1 season), 3 trips to the sweet sixteen, a #1 ranking, an SEC Championship, and a great 8. Little bit of a slow learner are we? Or is it you just dont follow basketball?

We don't give a rat's ass about ESPN. Forget them... :disappointed:

I fear N. Iowa would present the same problems that Vandy did.......big guy inside, excellant shooters outside.

I can't shake the feeling that the stars are aligning for the Vols this year. That was a great win over a very good team, but with the way the field is shaping up, the Vols have as good a chance as anyone not named Kentucky or WVU (and one of them is gone tomorrow)

Maybe it was his losing tournament record.
