Harris is very, very good. The Carmelo Anthony comparisons are moronic, but he's really good. Golden and McRae will be quality SEC players. The raw material will be there to put a Top 10 team on the floor in '11-'12. We'll see how it plays out.So Hat, do you think the guys coming in are the best Pearl has pulled in while he has been here? If so, do you think we have a shot at being an elite basketball team?
Hat, those guys are credified. How much more proof do you want? I like how ranrad hasn't come up with an explanation about how "right" they were about Tyler Smith.
He spots up all the time because you rarely see him moving to get himself open. He doesn't get a lot of shots off because he can't create a shot for himself.
Also, JP Prince is unquestionably our best penetrater. I would put both Maze and Goins ahead of Hopson as well.
After his sophmore season people were saying late 1st round early second round, that's exactly where they had him. He came back to move up, had a bad season and they had him not being drafted in '09.
Where were they wrong?
Smith said he would go if he could be drafted in the first round. He tried out for several teams and ultimately came back. So, I'm assuming that meant he was told he wouldn't be drafted in the first round. Yet, your site with credified people shows him solidly in the first round basically through all of 2008. That's where it's wrong.
With the Big 10 and Big 12 out of the way, we move our attention to one of the strongest conferences in college basketball--the SEC, which is pretty loaded with returning first round caliber prospects this season. Andrew Ogilvy leads the way, followed by Patrick Patterson, Tyler Smith, Nick Calathes and Jarvis Varnado.
Ranrad, this quote tells you all you need to know about this site. Despite the chart not being there in '09, they infer that Smith is still first round material in the entries I have read. But then I found this gem that better demonstrates the expertise.
Well, at least they got Patterson right.
And when was that written? Those guys were all potential 1st rounders at one point.
Did I see they called the SEC one of the toughest conferences in the nation? That's just outstanding stuff.Ranrad, this quote tells you all you need to know about this site. Despite the chart not being there in '09, they infer that Smith is still first round material in the entries I have read. But then I found this gem that better demonstrates their expertise.
Well, at least they got Patterson right.
That's exactly the point. At one point they had guys that were never close to being in the first round as being first rounders. This is the same as them predicting Hopson as a first round pick.
They simply aren't reliable.
Whatever, you two can sit there and give eachother reach arounds all night trying to prove me wrong, but we will see how reliable they are this upcoming draft. I'll be sure to post the results.
And you can keep defending these idiots by suggesting that Ogilvy and Calathes were first round draft picks one year, but then just all of a sudden got a lot worse. Because that makes much more sense.
Ogilvy never developed. When he first came to the SEC he had a ton of upside. Calathes left early to go to Greece. When this article was written they may have had 1st round potential, however you never posted when it was written.
