NBA.com has DraftExpress's 2011 projections posted?

That should tell you something.

The fact that they give draftexpress.com pub by posting their picks on NBA.com tells me everything I need to know.

The NBA obviously agrees that it's one of, if not the, best site for evaluating players and creating mock drafts.

Why else would they post their mocks Hat? Explain that to me.

Hat and Law, this is from NBA.com

In 2008, DraftExpress.com and InsideHoops.com were far and away the most accurate mocks on the Web. Over those two years, DraftExpress (No. 2 and No. 1) and InsideHoops.com (No. 4 and No. 2) have proved to be the most accurate, so it will be interesting to see how close they can come in 2009.

Can we now agree that this site is legit? The NBA seems to think so.

The purpose of any site is to draw hits. For reasons that are foreign to me, people love mock drafts.

Legit compared to what? The other guys running sites out of their basement and updating them constantly in a feverish attempt to have the most "accurate" predictions 5 minutes before Stern walks to the podium?

Ok, I can accept that. But Law was trying to contend that it was unreliable, however and turns out they are the MOST reliable. So I guess the last post is directed more towards him.

They were also more accurate than SportsIllustrated.com and Espn.com it goes on to say.

I have only contended that they aren't reliable predicting a prospect's potential draft status like Hopson. I think that is evident through their projection that Smith was a first rounder.

I agree with Hat and say that it's much easier to predict a draft once everyone has declared and you know exactly what players will be coming out. Hell, we could probably concoct a list on here, and it would be close to what they have.

When are people going to give up on the ridiculous "Will Scotty Leave Early?" speculation? It's like watching Vincent Yarbrough 2: Soft Swingman Sequel.

Vincent Yarbrough! EXACTLY. that guy use to drive me crazy. One night 30,the next three games 4 pt avg. Hopson definately in the same mold!! V,B

I think 2012 is the year we can actually make a legitimate run at a title. I was listening to a Bill Simmons podcast with the Houston Rocket's GM as his guest (pretty sharp guy and makes much better moves than rest of NBA) and he explained that the 2010 draft will be stronger than usual because players will want to avoid the potential 2011 labor dispute /cba changes. Now I think we can all agree NO ONE on this team is leaving early for the NBA, but this should push some other teams who have fringe guys into leaving.

He went on to say he believes 2011 class will be down for the opposite reason. Players not wanting to come into a league on strike, cba uncertainty ect, ect.

So (here comes some big IFs) if Scotty and Tobias play extremely well (good enough to leave early) they may stay anyways because of the uncertainty of the NBA, add in our impressive class (that will hopefully still be impressive) of 2012 and we could have a line up that looks like:

PG- Ware
SG- Mcrae/Golden
SF- Hopson
PF- Harris
C- Hall

Now if everyone pans out that could be are most loaded NBA talent team in history. A TON of variables, but something to hope for...

P.S I am not righting this season off by any means, just like to look ahead.

U left S Pearl out of the lineup u know he plays more than Hall... Maybe SP will go pro early daddy has increased his minutes maybe to improve his draft status..

I'm sick of hearing about his potential. He's almost completed two seasons and has done nothing of note. He is what he's going to be. Elite talents don't see their junior year in college.

Carlos Boozer isn't elite. Same with Deron Williams.
