Had a guy in the other thread make one of those stupid statements like people often do and say "Rap isn't music."

I said, It's more an art form and poetry than it is music really. Try this video and see how dumb your statements are. I figured you guys would like it as well, especially the section on Lose Yourself. I never knew how much internal rhyme there really was in it until this guy broke it down.

Agreed. And like him or not, Em's flow is sick. I personally can't wait till his new album comes out.

I don't listen to rap much these days. I guess I'm getting too old (37) I was a fan of Tupac, Bone, Dre, Ice Cube, and Snoop back in my younger days.

I also used to listen to heavy metal bands like Pantera and White Zombie. Now days I'm into Classic Rock mostly.

Impressed by Jay-Z's new album, production is great lyrics are pretty good. Overall good listen

My first listen right to Magna Carta/Holy Grail now and I gotta say, I wasn't expecting much. But it's actually pretty decent thus far. Not up to the level of his earlier stuff, but definitely better than 95% of the nonsense out here right now.

I think the Holy Grail song with JT would be better off with out Jay-Z and his rap. Seems off beat and way out of place.

Terrible rapper, vocal subjectively insecure opinions he forces upon others in his music supported by an equally insecure fanbase, attacking the outcast that he claims to be so much like, and god awful beat production

Agreed.

And of course, he'll blame the audience for his sagging record sales and hate on the likes of Drake, Lil Wayne and Rick Ross for making money by giving the people what they want.

And he is very judgemental. Nobody (not even him) is perfect, so who is he to judge others?
