The Rap/Hip-Hop thread

Just finally listened to "The Heist" all the way through for the first time today at the beach. Love the album. He's becoming one of my favorites

I enjoyed it greatly. Blood on the leaves, Hold my Liquor, and I am a God are dope. Particularly Blood on the leaves.

One good girl worth a thousand *****es.

You know what, after listening to some old Wu-Tang stuff today along with some more stuff over the last few months, is it just me, or is Ghostface Killah one of the most underrated rappers of all time... next to Rakim?

I'd agree with that.

Method Man, ODB and Rza got all the mainstream attention for various reasons and it's really easy to get lost in a group. but Toney put in consistent work.

It was just bad timing considering Rakim, Big (and his death), Nas, Busta, Jay, 50 etc... New York was just saturated.

I just noticed recently that a bunch of songs on one of my iPad playlists was either a GFK song or had him as a cameo.

I might have to check out this mixtape that Redman must be trying to promote right now...

This dude Myrlin is local. He's a popular poet in the art scene. Lyrically he's pretty great.

Best rapper alive.

Except for many of the ones he mentioned at the beginning of his list, as well as lupe, talib, kanye, and a few others if you argue.

How does wayne feel right now? Just got the ultimate dis, wasn't even mentioned for one of Kendrick's buds and they were signed with CP3 or w/e it was a few years ago.

Huh?

Kendrick's verse has got everybodies attention, calling everyone out. I personally like it, reminds me of the good days of rap, before everyone was partying and making club tracks together.

BoB's response was nice, as was Lupe's. only responses I've listened to so far.

Been awhile since I've been in this thread, didn't see that you guys had discussed his verse on "Control".
