The Return Of Chris Jericho

Eddie Gilbert and Shane Douglas could both incite a crowd with the best of them. Flair was the best, though. When he would wrestle one of the Von Erichs in Texas or Dusty Rhodes in Florida, every fan in the arena wanted him dead. HHH has that same type of aura.

About 10 years ago I was at a show at Rupp and Flair did his traditional walk down and then he picked an over weight guy out of the crowd to pick on.

That was awesome!

Kurt Angle was an excellent heel as well.

the best of the best could literally be a face one night and turn heel the next.

the kurt angle thing got old really quick. he had the same ol' personality everyone else did at the time who was trying to pull off being a heel. he didnt have that spark. if the rock hadnt turned when he did, he possibly could have made one of the best heels in the business because he was sneaky. the austin/rock storyline was amazing while it lasted.

Only Angle could get everyone in the audience to turn his entrance music into chants of "you suck".

While most of his career was a suckfest, Lex Luger had a time period in the very early '90s in WCW when he could enrage a crowd with the best of them. Watching him shatter PWI's Wrestler Of The Year trophy over Ricky Steamboat's head is one of my all time favorite moments.

Anyone remember the Mid-Atlantic wrestling days when Precious Paul Ellering was managing Paul Orndorf and Jimmy Snuka?

Ken Patera, Greg Valentine, Baron Von Raschke, Iron Shiek and Rick Flair were all heels back then (late 70's). I remember when Flair attacked Ricky Steamboat and dragged his face across the ropes, Ricky had what looked like carpet burns for weeks afterwards.

I'm a huge Orton fan, but they need to get the guy a manager or valet to do most of the talking. Being Orton's manager would be a perfect job for JBL.
The answer is right under Vince's nose................Double A!!!

True. I'm shocked a guy as smart as Vince doesn't get more value out of having Arn Anderson and Dean Malenko on his payroll.

You'd think that, if Finlay can get air time, then Vince could find a role for the Enforcer. I think AA would make a nice manager for Orton.

I really think the terrible state of AA's left arm makes Vince hesitant to put him on TV often. In fact, it's possible Arn doesn't want to be in front of th camera for that reason. I do agree that he would be a perfect manager for RKO.

I guess Missy Hyatt or Babydoll are out of the question......:birgits_giggle:

I saw Missy Hyatt on some television documentary a couple of years ago. It wasn't pretty.

I was always partial to Dark Journey and the late Nacy Sullivan Benoit when it came to valets.

wait... Dean Malenko is on Vince's payroll and isn't doing anything? is he injured like AA or just being wasted? I never knew where he went. I usually only watch wrestling for the trash talk. I would actually watch Malenko wrestle.

Malenko is essentially doing the same thing AA is, acting as a road agent for the WWE. He had some injury problems, but I don't think any of them were serious enough to keep him from wrestling if someone wanted to put him in the ring.

why wouldn't you want malenko in the ring? he would really help the young talent with actual wrestling wouldn't he?

I would think so. However, with Vince trying to distance himself from the steroids and overdoses of the last few years, he probably isn't too keen on putting Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit's best friend on television right now. Dean is also pushing 50. He might not want to perform in ring anymore.

maybe he can just teach them to wrestle... because the wrestling part of today's professional wrestling has gone quickly downhill.

No disrespect meant to professional wrestling afficionados, but when 'wrestling' falls into the sports forum, i'm disallusioned

fogive my spelling, then. Professional Wrestling is not a 'Sport', and it's sad when it is mentioned as such. That is my point.
