I'm no fitness guru, but I have to think you'll last longer throwing more off days. One week into my running routine:
Monday: 3.1 miles
Tuesday: 5 miles
Wednesday: 3.1 miles
Thursday: 5 miles
Friday 3.1 miles
Saturday: Hour 10 which comes out to about 7 miles
Sunday: greatest rest day of my life
Never been a runner. I was a linemen in high school and I am looking to drop weight and my goal is to run a half marathon october. Using New Balance 1012 Motion Control. One week in and I am so sore but I love it. The only thing I don't like is the constant thirst and hunger. Also, this exercise has put my colon to work. Activia ain't got Sh!t on Running.

I would agree with BPV. Thats a lot of running right out of the gate.
As for thirst, go to a running store and get belt water bottle or a small one you can hold in your hand.
Girlfriend can hook you up. Might even demo.I thank you for the concern but I haven't been inactive before this. I just never structurally ran. My girlfriend is a cross country runner and I need something to do while she's training, so why not join the club. And I feel great I usually only break once during my runs during the week and twice during the Hour 10. Anyone know of good stretches for thighs and calves?
to be able to state that you ran X amount of miles, does that mean nonstop miles with no rests or walking?

I generally run 98% of the time but if my heart rate gets elevated (like up a steep grade or mountain) then I'll walk for a minute to bring it down. Unless you're an elite runner, walking a bit on long runs and races increases your endurance and actually makes you faster.
