The Runner's thread

Putting in work.

What exactly is hill training? Is it just running on a lot of hills?

I usually just pick a route that has a lot of hills in it or hills towards the end of my run, but I am sure there are some other methods to help with hill trainning.

I haven't seen tri-vol around in a while I think he had some hill training method.

Tonight was a great running night 6.44 miles total. Nothing very fast, but one of those runs where I didn't really want to stop. Ran about 5 miles of it with the Samus. And she was going after it! One of the miles we clocked it at 8:25. Set an average pace of about 10:00 with her.

bought these today at Fleet Feet in Carrboro (really it's in Chapel Hill, but whatev). Brooks Pure Cadence 3. Makes my sixth straight pair of Pure Cadences. Thinking about getting a pair of New Balances to compliment them.

3.5 after work today. Puts me at 77 for the year. Pain came back in my left ankle during the run again today. Not sure what's going on. May be time for some new shoes but I have only had these Brooks for about four months.

I know that feel. My right knee is acting up something awful. I'm only 26 going on 27, and my knee feels terrible! I also hate how quickly shoes wear out. I bought these asics in November and I feel as though they are on their last legs.

6.2 very slow miles. 9:35 pace. I think I hacked up everything that was left of this cold though.

I'm a sucker for boxers. I have one now that will be eight in August of this year.

She's actually a rescue mix...we think there is some Pit and Lab in her, as well. She is an awesome companion, running partner, keeper of the turf,... and cuddle bug.
