The Runner's thread

Been able to get back into it a bit now that the snow is gone and weather is better. Gotten about 25 miles or so in the past ten days I think, not timed myself much yet till I feel like I'm back in the full shape I was.

One thing I'm looking at is doing another 5k next month at the end of April. My sister volunteers at Children's hospital and they are doing a run sponsored by Color Me Rad. I've looked stuff up on the internet and heard both good and bad things, but I figured I'd see what you guys know about those kinds of races? I'm thinking after the Komen race I did last october nothing could be that disorganized again, though it was still a good experience (other than 29 degree weather)

The one we ran in was great fun, but don't expect an organized, timed event.

Thanks guys. I don't care what my time is, I just want to run the whole time and have a good time.

5k in the morning, then either adding about 5 miles more or maybe going for a bike ride. Core exercises coming up.

Thanks!! I survived. Very slow, but I made it! There was a massive hill in the middle that was about 3/4 mile long. Had to walk about half of it. Glad I did it though

You finished it and that's all that matters. Now you have something to work towards.

Did you decide about the half yet?

Worked from 9 to 8 yestetday, working 9 to 7 today. Found a way to sqeeze in three miles last night still though.

For those of you who do both, do you find you're slower on a treadmill than outside? Or is it just me?

I think it's easier to regulate your pace on a treadmill so that may be why you seem slower.

I don't think I get the same endorphin effect when I run indoors

I feel slower and my times are slower. When i run outside i can normally get 3.5 miles in about 26ish minutes. On my treadmill its more like 2.5 in the same time. Pretty big difference. Though i do feel the treadmill is a more constant pace.

I hate the treadmill. Despise it. Can't go more than three miles and usually can't go under an 8 minute pace for very long.

5K in 23:12 today. Didn't do any additional miles because the buddy I'm training with for the marathon had to take his kids to bball practice. So I hit the gym. Tomorrow is an off day, planning on doing 8 Monday morning.

Four miles through downtown Chattanooga with the wife. If anyone has been to downtown then you know how hilly downtown is, but it was an awesome run with great views and great weather.
