Didn't want to run Saturday. Wanted to watch football and drink beer all afternoon. So what did I do? Go run 2.5 miles up a mountain that I'd never run before. Cursed my stupid brain for such a stupid idea all the way up the stupid mountain. Got to the top and laid on a log. I let the sun warm me and the steady wind rush by. Watched the light filter through the swaying trees while the clouds drifted by. Closed my eyes, let my heartbeat still and my breath abate while I listened to everything and nothing all at the same time relishing the fact that I was the only person on top of that mountain in the middle of the forest. Then I thanked my stupid brain for such a tremendously great idea. Happy running everyone.
3.5 miles this morning. 8 sets of suicides this evening. Really going to put an emphasis on speed/interval training to get my speed up. Might even try a 100 mile October. Since at best my A's are going to lose the Wild card play in game, my October will only be busy for 4 hours each Saturday, so I should have the free time.
On another note, did Nerd quit running?
