The Runner's thread

Anyone have any recommendations on dealing with shin splints? I am about 6 weeks out from my first 1/2 marathon and I am pretty sure I have shin splints starting. I have rested the last 4 days but don't know if I should continue to rest or try a short easy run.

I feel like everything was going pretty good up to this point. My long run is up to 9.5 miles at 9:30 pace. I was only planning on going up to 11 or 12 miles a couple weeks before the race and then backing back down.

Came across this article today

4.2 in 26:02.

Yearly total = 41.5.
Think I'm gonna aim for 500 on the year.

Need to start running more balanced throughout the week instead of skipping days.

Debating changing my mind and running the Country Music Marathon April 25th instead of the one I planned for March. Anyone else doing that race?

5.6 miles. Started as a recovery run, started doing sprints though. Did a tempo mile and a half too. So yeah.

That puts me at an 45 miles for the year.

955 remaining.

6 miles today on the dot today. Not sure the pace. Watch says 9:27, but I ran off post and it took FOREVER (ok, like 4-5 minutes) to get back through the back gate.

51 miles for the year. Need 34 more this month to remain on the pace I'd like to be at.

YTD: 51
Debt remaining: 949
