Anybody in the area kept up with the smoke conditions? Should I be avoiding running when it doesn't appear smokey?

Secret City 5K in Oak Ridge. It was an easy, mostly level course. Once again, came in 3rd in my age group (45-49) with a chip time of 30:02. An improvement of 1:23 over last week's time. Averaged 9:34/mile via Runtastic and the app also gave me a 5K time of 29:49

Did a turkey trot 5K yesterday. 9 degrees outside, it was freakin miserable.

21:08. A little slower than I would have liked but I'll take it with the conditions.

Good Luck and have fun OB! It is awesome to be able to run for such great cause. I have been looking at the St. Jude Memphis Marathon in 2017 for my first Full Marathon. You will have to let us know how it goes and let me know what you think about the race after this weekend.

I did the 5k last year. You run through st jude campus. It's incredible. I'll forewarn you. Good luck keeping a dry eye. The patients are outside cheering you on. It's an amazing thing to see.

Finished the St Jude Half. It was so cold. Rained part of the time. Other than that it was an amazing experience. Tons of fun. Finished in 2:32:40.

Ran my last race of the year yesterday (12-3). The Reindeer Run 5K in Lafayette, GA. I didn't do all that well. First mile was great, but I was getting gassed toward the end. Well off my personal best set at the race in Oak Ridge 2 weeks ago.

Still, 7 races in 6 months, two of which I placed in the top 3 of my age group isn't bad. Especially when you consider I've only been running for 8 months.

Went out for 3 mile on Christmas day and damn devil knee pain back. It becomes unbearable. Just below and to the outside of my knee cap. If I attempt to fight thru it, I get isolated swelling. Almost like a walnut size.

No, I'd like to in a couple years, but schedule wouldn't allow it this year. The half for today was cancelled due to weather. I'm trying to get in the expo to get my packet for tomorrow, traffic is insane

I did that one this past April. It was pretty good and I'm not a star wars fan. Medals are awesome to, it's my favorite except St Jude for other reasons, but design wise it's the best.
