Correct. Don't reward bad behaviour.
Ignoring the fact you enjoy trolling more than actual conversation, I'm going to hope you can give a straight answer for once. Do you believe either side has truly gone into this with good faith in trying to find a solution that everyone can live with? Or are both sides actively looking for something they can call a definitive win, public be damned?Only took one to shutdown the government.
To use a point of reference from the recent past, during the 2013 shutdown, Standard & Poor's, the financial ratings agency, stated on October 16th that the shutdown had "to date taken $24 billion out of the economy", and "shaved at least 0.6 percent off annualized fourth-quarter 2013 GDP growth". That was over a shutdown which only lasted for 16 days. We are now on Day 33 of "The Great Trump Shutdown".as discussed before, it's mostly a delay rather than a loss.
so a year long shutdown would mean we would be in serious recession? 5.2% loss in GDP? hard to believe that's correct.
Trump could have his stupid border wall... but he has to put more on the table than a temporary fix to DACA. If he was to offer amnesty to the 3.6 million "Dreamers", he would get a lot more than just $5.7 billion for the additional steel barrier. There is no indication that this group of people poses any security threat to the rest of the country. Most of them have already lived in the country for more than 10 years and are already fully assimilated into American society... some of them don't even speak Spanish at all. Trump won't do it, because he is afraid of his base.
Both D's and R's did then Trump happened because he didn't get a second scoop. Contrary to what you may believe either side trying to gain from a CR is counter productive to actually ending the shutdown.Ignoring the fact you enjoy trolling more than actual conversation, I'm going to hope you can give a straight answer for once.
